This wikiHow teaches you how to select a specific part of a song for a TikTok video on your iPhone or iPad. After selecting a song from the TikTok music library, you can trim it by tapping the musical note icon with the scissors on the right side of the screen.

Step 1. Open the TikTok app on your iPhone or iPad
This app is marked by a black square icon with a white musical note inside. Usually, you can find this icon on your device's home screen.
Step 2. Touch the plus sign icon +
It's in the lower center of the screen.
Step 3. Touch Add sound
It's in the top center of the screen.
Step 4. Browse for the desired song
Use categories to browse options or search for specific songs by typing keywords in the search bar. You can tap the content in the search results to hear the examples live.
Step 5. Touch the red and white ticks to select a song
After that, you will be taken back to the camera window.
Step 6. Touch the musical note icon with scissors
It's in the row of icons on the right side of the screen.
Step 7. Drag the sound waves at the bottom of the screen to cut the music
This wave is under the heading " Drag to trim sound ". The duration will be updated to show the starting point of the song. Only the part that is played repeatedly will be added to the video.
Step 8. Touch the red and white tick icon to confirm
This icon is above the sound wave.
Step 9. Select recording preferences
If you need to switch from the front camera to the rear camera (or vice versa), tap the camera icon with the two arrows at the top of the screen. You can also add effects, enable/disable beauty mode (“Beauty Mode”), and use other features via the icons on the right side of the screen.
Step 10. Touch and hold the red circle to start recording
TikTok will continue to record video as long as you hold down the button. Lift your finger to stop the recording process when finished.
Step 11. Touch the red and white ticks
It's in the lower-right corner of the screen. The preview of the recorded video will be displayed after that.
Step 12. Edit the video and touch Next
You can use regular editing tools to change the look of your creation.
Step 13. Add a caption and tap Post
After that, your video will be shared with the followers of your TikTok profile.
