Step
Method 1 of 5: Create Animated-g.webp" />
Step 1. Look for a good video to-g.webp" />
You have many options, such as Giphy-g.webp
- If you prefer to download the app, read the reviews on the device's app store. Do not download and run applications from untrusted sites.
- The two applications above can be used to create-g.webp" />
- Most converters require that the video be uploaded on a site like Vimeo or YouTube that will allow you to share the video publicly. Other apps (like Giphy) also allow you to upload your own videos.
Step 2. Select the video source
Search the internet for the video you want (or on your device if you're using a site like Giphy) between 0.5 and 15 seconds long to convert to a GIF. If you select a video that is on the internet, open the video in a web browser.
Step 3. Load the video into the converter
The steps that must be taken may vary depending on the application used.
- If you're using a video taken from a website like Youtube, open the video in your browser. Copy the video URL from the address bar, then paste the address into the box provided by the video to-g.webp" />
- If you want to upload your own videos, find the button in your video to-g.webp" />
Step 4. Determine the duration of the-g.webp" />
Each site provides different options for editing, but all will give you the option of specifying a specific part of a video to convert to GIF. For example, if you're using Imgur, there's a slider below the video to set the "start" and "end" points for the-g.webp
Step 5. Add text on-g.webp" />
Almost all video to-g.webp
Step 6. Create the file
When you're done creating, click "Create GIF" or "Save GIF" in the web application you used to bring up the Save menu. Name the-g.webp
- If the-g.webp" />
- Test the-g.webp" />
Method 2 of 5: Create Animated-g.webp" />
Step 1. Prepare a set of images
If you want to create a moving-g.webp
Step 2. Choose an image to-g.webp" />
There are various options to choose from, such as GifCreator or GIFMaker Video Maker. Both of these programs (and various other applications) can be accessed on the internet, without having to be downloaded.
- These converters usually have similar features, such as the ability to modify the size of each frame and adjust the animation speed. The app can also be used on all mobile devices via a web browser.
- There is also a-g.webp" />
Step 3. Upload the first image to the converter program
Open the converter in a web browser, then look for a button that says something like "Upload Images" (depending on the converter you're using). A search box will appear so you can select the first image. Double click or select the image, then click " Open ". A thumbnail will be displayed in the converter.
Step 4. Resize the image
Most converters also display settings under the image that can be adjusted, for example in terms of size or repeat time. You can move the slider to adjust the aspects. You can also rearrange them later by clicking on the image thumbnail.
Step 5. Upload and adjust more images
Click the " Upload Images " button to upload another photo. Most converters allow you to drag images and arrange them in a different order. So, no need to worry if you upload them out of order. You can also adjust the size of each image. If the converter you're using doesn't show an animation preview, look for a button that says "Preview" or "Play" to check the-g.webp
Step 6. Create a-g.webp" />
When you have finished setting the order and size of the animated images, click Create-g.webp
Method 3 of 5: Creating Animated GIFs From Scratch With GIMP
Step 1. Run GIMP
If you prefer to use GIMP to create an animated-g.webp
Step 2. Create a new image
Click " New " in the File menu. This will bring up a dialog containing several options for the image to be created:
- There are 2 boxes labeled Width (width) and Height (height), followed by the words “px” (this means “pixels”). Type the size (in pixels) you want in each box. If you prefer to use inches, select " in " from the list and type in the desired image size.
- Next to “Fill with”, choose the color you want to use as the background for the-g.webp" />
- Make the image by clicking " OK ".
Step 3. Make the Layers dock visible
Open the "Windows" menu, then select "Dockable Dialogs". Next, select " Layers " from the list.
Step 4. Create a new layer to serve as the first element
Each piece of animation must be placed on a separate layer. Open the New Layer dialog by clicking the little paper icon in the lower-left corner of the Layers box.
- Type a name for the layer next to " Layer name " so you can easily switch to another layer later.
- In order for the animation to run smoothly, set the color to " Transparent ", then click " OK ".
Step 5. Add text or images to the layer
If you want to draw something later, click the brush icon in the sidebar, choose a color, then draw whatever you want. If you want to insert text, click "A" in the sidebar, then click where you want to start typing.
- Anything placed in this layer will be moved simultaneously. This means, if you type some text and create an image on this layer, the two elements will be in the same animation frame.
- When you have finished inserting text or images in this layer, look in the layers dialog and pay attention to the " Opacity " option. To make the layer less opaque, slide the knob down until you get the result you want.
Step 6. Create another layer, if desired
You can repeat this step as many times as you want in the animated image. Give it a name that is not the same as the old layer, then click "OK".
Step 7. Take a look at the preview of the animation
Open the Filters menu, select " Animation ", then click " Playback ". You can now preview the animation, created by GIMP from each layer.
Step 8. Change the animation options
Open File, click "Export", then select GIF
- If you want the animation to be repeated continuously, check the " Loop Forever ".
- Next to “Delay between frames where unspecified”, enter the time (in milliseconds) you want each frame to appear. By default, the time is 100 (this is why the preview feels a bit fast). Change to a larger number, for example 300 or 600, then click "Export".
Step 9. Fine-tune the delay
If you don't want each layer to have the same time duration, edit each layer's duration individually.
- Right-click a layer name in the Layers dialog, then select "Edit layer attributes".
-
Next to the layer name, type its duration (in milliseconds) directly, without using a space. For example:
LAYERNAME(200ms)
- .
- Save the layer by clicking "OK". Modify another layer using the same way.
Step 10. Preview and export the animation you created
Open the Filters menu, click " Animation ", then select " Playback " to see the changes that have been made to the animation. If you are satisfied and want to save the image, click " File " → " Export ", then select "-g.webp
Method 4 of 5: Create an Animated-g.webp" />
Step 1. Create a new image using Photoshop
If you prefer to convert your video to a moving-g.webp
- Click "File", then "New". This will bring up options for the file to be created. Type the name of the animation you want to create in the box next to " Name ".
- In the " width " and " height " boxes, note the measurement type next to the value box. This is usually set in inches or pixels, depending on the setting previously used. If you prefer to use pixels, change the measurement type to " Pixels ". If you prefer inches, select the appropriate option. Type the desired value in the box provided.
- Specify the background color for the animation to be created. Click the menu next to " Background " or " Background contents " (depending on the version of Photoshop used), then choose a color from the available options.
- Click "OK" to create a new image using these settings.
Step 2. Open the Layers and Animation panel
Each animation frame must be on its own layer. So, make the layers panel visible. Click the Window menu, then check Layers and Animations. The panel will appear in the workspace.
Step 3. Create a new layer for the first frame
In the Layers panel, add a new layer by clicking the plus sign (+). Next to “Name”, type a name for the layer, for example “Frame 1”. Set the Fill color to Transparent or the background color. Click "OK" to create a new layer.
Each animation element must be in a different frame. Anything inserted into this new layer will be moved as a single frame
Step 4. Add the image or text to the new layer
If you want to draw something on this layer, select one of the colors in the swatches panel (the panel contains the color boxes), then click the paintbrush tool. To add text, click the "T" to bring up the text tool.
Step 5. Create the next frame
Create another layer and create a second frame for your animation.
- If there are only slight changes in the next animation frame, you can "Clone" the previous layer instead of creating a new one. To clone a layer, right-click the layer in the Layers panel, then select "Duplicate layer".
- Keep creating or cloning layers until you have each animation frame on its own layer.
Step 6. Create a new frame in the Animation panel
In the Animation panel at the bottom of the screen, click the rectangle icon with a smaller box above it (the New Frame button). A new frame will be created. Click this button as many times as desired according to the number of layers in the animation. If the animation has 7 layers, make 7 frames too.
Step 7. Edit the contents of the first frame in the Animation panel
Click the first frame in the panel. As seen in the thumbnail, the currently displayed frame contains every layer that is in the animation.
- Notice that each layer in the Layers panel has a little eyeball symbol next to it. This symbol indicates that the layer is viewable at this time. So that the first frame in the Animation panel shows only the first layer, omit the eyeball symbol on the other layers.
- Change the duration of the frame by setting the time (in seconds) below the thumbnail (at this point it still says " 0 sec ").
Step 8. Edit the next frame
Click each additional frame and make the other layers invisible, except the layers you want to appear in the frame. Don't forget to set the time at the bottom of each thumbnail.
Step 9. Test the animation by pressing the Play button
The Play button is below the animation frame at the bottom of the screen.
Step 10. Save the animation as a GIF
Click "File", then "Save for Web and Devices". Make sure you've selected the-g.webp
Method 5 of 5: Create a-g.webp" />
Step 1. Find the image you want to convert into a GIF
Sometimes, apps or websites may require you to provide an image in-g.webp
- If the image you want to use is on the Internet, first save the image to your computer. You can save it on your MacBook or on your PC.
- If the desired image needs to be scanned first, see How to Scan Photos.
Step 2. Open the image in an image editing program
Find the image on your computer using Explorer or Finder, then:
- Mac: Double-click the image to open in Preview.
- Windows: Right-click the image, select "Open With", then click "Paint" from the menu that appears.
Step 3. Save the file in-g.webp" />
With the image open in Paint (Windows) or Preview (Mac):
- Mac: Open File, then select " Save As ". In the Format menu, select "GIF". Type a name for the new file next to " Save As ", then click " Save " to create a-g.webp" />
- Windows: Click " File ", then click the arrow pointing to the right next to " Save As ". Select "-g.webp" />
Tips
- Keep in mind that moving images and banners are useful, but you should limit their use on web pages. Good web designs include only a few animations so as not to interfere with other features on the page.
- Animated GIFs can be used as short videos with a much smaller file size than regular videos.
