This wikiHow teaches you how to receive money through the Square Cash app on Android and iPhone. The Cash app allows its users to send and request money from other users via the username #Cashtag. When you receive your first payment, you will be asked to connect an account or debit card. You can transfer money from the Cash app using the Cash Out feature. Method 1 of 2: Requesting Payment
Step 1. Open the Cash app
The Square Cash app has a green emblem with a white “$” logo. When you first open the app, you have to register or log in first.
Step 2. Enter the amount of money
Use the number buttons to enter the desired amount of money. Touch. to add the number of cents to the desired dollar amount.
Step 3. Touch Requests
It's at the bottom right of the screen.
Step 4. List the recipients in the "To" field
You can include the contact name, #Cashtag username, or the recipient's mobile number. You can allow the Cash app to access your mobile contacts. By doing this, recipients can be selected through your contacts.
Step 5. Include notes
Use the "For:" field to enter a payment note. For example: “Need money for gas!”, or “Money for dinner”.
Step 6. Touch Requests
It's in the top-right corner. Your request will be sent to the recipient's email address. Requests can also be sent via SMS.
Method 2 of 2: Withdraw Balance
Step 1. Accept payment
When someone first sends you money via the Cash app, your payment may be delayed pending your approval. Follow the guide below to receive payments.
- Touch the notification button at the top right of the screen (the small circle with the number of unread notifications).
- Touch button Accept next to payment.
- Touch Confirm.
- Touch Done.
Step 2. Open the Cash app

The nominal money is a small number in the top center of the application. This will open your account balance nominal screen.
Step 4. Touch Cash Out

Standard takes a few days to transfer money to your account. Instant will send money instantly, but at a rate.
Step 6. Touch your bank
When transferring money to your account for the first time, your account must be connected first. Touch your bank on the list provided. If it's not there, tap "Other".
Step 7. Log in to your bank account
Use the credentials you normally use to sign in to your bank online. This is done to connect your account.
