Plague Inc. is a strategy video game available on iOS, Android, PC and Mac devices. Your goal in the game is to create a deadly pathogen and annihilate the human race with the plague that ensues. Throughout the course of the game, you will meet enemies who are trying to thwart your grand plans. Biological weapons (Bio-Weapon) are the deadliest pathogens as well as the final challenge in the game. This pathogen has such a powerful ability that it can kill anyone it infects. The goal of the Bio-Weapon challenge is to minimize the lethal effects of the pathogen until all people in the world are infected, and then release the horrors of the Bio-Weapon to everyone at once.

Part 1 of 3: Creating Pathogens
Step 1. Choose your gene
When starting the game, you can choose several upgrades for your pathogens. What you choose will have a huge impact on the gameplay so choose wisely. Here are some suggested improvements to make the game run easier:
- DNA Gene – ATP Boost. ATP Boost will give you additional DNA points at the start of the game.
- Travel Gene – Aquacyte. This gene is needed to infect hard-to-reach islands such as Greenland, Iceland and New Zealand.
- Evolution Gene – Patho-Stasis. These genes will make upgrades much more affordable.
- Mutation Gene - Genetic Mimic. This gene slows the progression of healing, offsetting the negative effects of increased Patho-Stasis.
- Environment Gene – Extremophile. Extremophile will increase communicability in any environmental conditions.
Step 2. Purchase some initial upgrades
Before selecting the starting country, use the ATP Boost bonus to buy some early upgrades. This will increase infection rates and prevent lethal mutations from appearing too early.

Step 3. Define the starting country
The starting country you choose is very important because it will determine how quickly the pathogen spreads. Most guides suggest starting from India because of the large population and proximity to China while other guides suggest Saudi Arabia.
The healing progression will start after selecting the initial state
Part 2 of 3: Spreading the Plague
Step 1. Develop (evolve) the necessary upgrades
At the beginning of the game, prioritize certain upgrades to make it easier for you to complete the game. When you start collecting DNA, develop the following upgrades in order:
- Water 1
- Water 1
- Gene Compression 3
- Deactivated Modified Genes – When combined with Gene Compression 3, the lethal effect will drop drastically.
- Water 2
- Water 2
Step 2. Perform devolve on symptoms (symptoms) that appear randomly
Sometimes, the pathogen will mutate randomly. You are strongly advised to devolve these symptoms when they appear because they can kill before all humans are infected.
Step 3. Develop a second improvement group
This improvement group aims to increase the pathogen's transmission rate drastically. Develop the following upgrades in order once you have enough DNA:
- Cold Resistance 1
- Extreme Bioaerosol
- Cold Resistance 2
- Drug Resistance 1 and 2
- If people start getting killed by pathogens at this stage, immediately upgrade Deactivated Modified Genes 2.
Step 4. Wait until everyone is infected
At this stage, you have to wait for everyone on earth to be infected with Bio-Weapon. Once you get the message that there are no more healthy people left, you can start killing them with this pathogen.
- If the pathogen starts killing before infecting everyone else, increase Nucleic Acid Neutralization 1. If more people are killed, increase Nucleic Acid Neutralization 2. If the pathogen still kills, increase Nucleic Acid Neutralization 3.
- You must unlock the three Nucleic Acid Neutralization abilities in order to unlock the Annihilate gene.
- Always devolve every random mutation that appears. You should only have Coughing, Rash, Cysts, Sneezing, or Sweating symptoms.
Part 3 of 3: Wiping Out a Population
Step 1. Turn on the Annihilate gene
Annihilate is the main symptom that will kill people very quickly. Make sure everyone is infected before activating this gene.
Step 2. Slow down the treatment
At this stage, all the people in the world would die if the development of treatment had not been completed. The challenge that remains is ensuring that treatment development is not completed. The following abilities can prevent the completion of treatment:
- Genetic Hardening 1 and 2
- Insomnia
- Paranoia
- Seizures
- Insanity
- Inflammation
- Paralysis
- coma
Step 3. Randomize the genes
If the treatment is still progressing, upgrade Genetic ReShuffle 1 and 2. At this stage, the pathogen won't take long to kill everyone.
