Completed Nano Virus mode on Plague Inc. is a very challenging thing, as you keep pace with the pace of Cure's development. When you start spreading the Nano Virus, the researchers will start developing Cure right away. Therefore, almost all of your efforts are directed towards slowing the Cure's development rate and also infecting the population without killing it. Also, the Brutal difficulty mode makes the game even more difficult to complete. However, by using the right strategy, you can finish this mode easily.

Part 1 of 3: Preparing Equipment
Step 1. Select genes
When you start playing the game, you can choose between several Nano Virus upgrades. The upgrades you choose will have a huge impact on the development of the game, so choose them carefully. Here are some improvements that you should take to make it easier to finish the game:
- DNA Gene - ATP Boost. This gene provides much-needed additional DNA to slow down the Cure's development rate early in the game.
- Travel Gene - Aquacyte. This gene is needed to spread the Nano Virus in island countries that are difficult to infect, such as Greenland, Iceland, and New Zealand.
- Evolution Gene - Sympto-Stasis. This gene keeps Symptom development costs low.
- Mutation Gene - Genetic Mimic. The ability of Genetic Mimics to slow down the development rate of Cure is very important, because development of Cure will start as soon as you deploy the Nano Virus.
- Environment Gene - Extremophile. This gene can increase the transmission rate of Nano Virus in all environmental conditions.
Step 2. Buy some upgrades at the start of the game
Before selecting the country to infect, use the bonus from ATP Boost to buy some early upgrades. The following improvements can make gameplay easier at the end of the game, and can also help with Cure.

Step 3. Select the first country to be infected
Choosing the first country to infect is important, because that country determines how fast the Nano Virus can spread. Almost all guides recommend India as the first country to be infected, because the country has a large population and is also close to China. Apart from India, other guides recommend Saudi Arabia.

Part 2 of 3: Infecting the World
Step 1. Develop (Evolve) important upgrades

Step 4. Increase the transmission rate of Nano Virus
The following improvements can make Nano Virus harder to kill and can increase its transmission rate. Step 1. Use Replication Factory Overload
After infecting all countries on Earth, this Ability can increase the transmission of the Nano Virus. However, after a while, the Nano Virus's transmittance will decrease compared to its initial transmittance before using this Ability. Therefore, you should use this Ability after it has infected the entire country.
Step 2. Do Devolve on the Symptom that appears randomly
Sometimes Nano Virus will mutate randomly. It is highly recommended for you to Devolve this randomly appearing Symptom when it appears, because the Symptom can kill people before the Nano Virus can infect everyone.
Step 3. Use Genetic Reshuffle
You will race against Cure when you reach the end of the game. The Genetic Reshuffle ability can slow down the Cure's development rate. Plus, these Abilities can be a good investment if you've already developed almost all of the other upgrades. Genetic Reshuffle has three levels and each level can reduce the percentage of Cure development.
Step 4. Develop all Symptoms when everyone has been infected
You will receive a message after infecting everyone in the world. Once you reach this stage, you can develop lethal symptoms, as you don't have to infect new people. At this stage, the sooner you kill people, the better the outcome.
