This wikiHow teaches you how to add bots to your own team or opposing teams in the Counter-Strike game series.

Method 1 of 2: Using Offline Bots in Counter-Strike Global Offensive
Step 1. Open Counter Strike: Global Offensive
CS:GO has a built-in offline mode that can be used to play matches with bots.
Step 2. Click PLAY
It's in the top-left corner of the screen. A drop-down menu will be displayed.
Step 3. Click OFFLINE WITH BOTS
This option is in the drop-down menu “ PLAY ”.
Step 4. Select a map
Click the map you want to use, then select GO ” in the lower right corner of the screen.
Step 5. Select the difficulty level of the bot
Click the circle in the pop-up window, then click “ GO ”.
The leftmost circle refers to the easiest bot, while the rightmost circle refers to the hardest bot
Step 6. Select a team
Click " COUNTER-TERRORISTS " or " TERRORISTS ” to join the selected team.
Step 7. Review your team
Press the Tab key to display all team members (all bots).
Step 8. Use the developer console to add or remove bots
If you enable the developer console in CS:GO, you can increase or decrease the number of bots by pressing the ~ key and entering the following command:
- To add a bot, type bot_add_ct (Counter-Terrorists) or bot_add_t (Terrorists), then press Enter.
- To reduce bots, type bot_kick_ct (Counter-Terrorists) or bot_kick_t (Terrorists), then press Enter.
Method 2 of 2: Using Console Commands
Step 1. Open the Counter-Strike game
All of the following games support adding bots via console commands:
- Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
- Counter-Strike: Source
- Counter-Strike 1.6
Step 2. Activate the developer console (developer console)
The activity process is slightly different, depending on the selected game:
- Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - Click “ OPTIONS ” at the top of the main page, click “ GAME SETTINGS ” in the drop-down menu, and slide the "Enable Developer Console" toggle or option to the "Yes" position.
- Counter-Strike: Source and Counter-Strike 1.6 - Click “ Options ", click the tab " Keyboard ", choose " Advanced… ”, and check the box " Enable developer console ".
Step 3. Run the game
Create a new online game or open a server and connect the game to it before continuing.
Step 4. Press the ~ button
The developer window will appear on the right side of the Counter-Strike screen.
Knob " ~ ” (tilde) is usually below the Esc key, in the upper-left corner of the keyboard.
Step 5. Add bots
Type bot_add_ct and press Enter key to add a bot to the " Counter-Terrorists " team, or type bot_add_t and press Enter key to add a bot to the " Terrorists " team.
Step 6. Change the difficulty level of the bot
Open the console by pressing the ~ key, then type bot_difficulty 1 for easy bots, bot_difficulty 2 for medium bots, or bot_difficulty 3 for expert or difficult bots.
Tips
- Bots with expert or high difficulty levels can be a training medium against online players.
- When playing the “Demolition” round with all bots, don't forget to immediately go to position B (rush B).
