Super Mario 64 DS is a remake of the classic Super Mario 64 game for the Nintendo DS portable console. Part 1 of 2: Getting Wario
Step 1. Make sure you play as Luigi

Step 2. Make sure you've beaten Bowser twice
To get Wario, you must be able to access the second floor of the castle and to access it you must first defeat Bowser twice. After defeating him, you'll get the key to access the upper floors of the castle.
- The first Bowser level is "Bowser in the Dark World". This level is behind the starry door on the main floor of the castle. Grab Bowser's tail and throw him at the bombs at the edge of the arena to win the level!
- The second Bowser level is "Bowser in the Fire Sea". To access the level, you must fall into a hole in the floor which is in the same room as the blue portal to Dire, Dire Docks. After you get the first star in Dire, Dire Docks, the portal will move back and you can jump into the hole. Step 3. Go to the second floor of the castle
In the castle's front lobby, climb the stairs and open the large locked door. You will directly lead to the second floor.
Step 4. Go to the mirror room
On the second floor, look for a door with a star and no numbers. If you are in the right room, you will see many paintings and a large mirror on the walls of the room.

This level is relatively short, but you must complete it to get Wario. Use the instructions below to complete the level:
- Slide down and stop at the bottom platform then jump over the gap to move to the next platform. Jump over moving metal platforms.
- Jump to the ledge. Turn right and walk towards the gap. You will be carried away by a gust of wind and lifted.
- Land and cross the two platforms to get to the ice pillar. Continue until you reach the other side.
- Climb to the top and make your way through the hole to face off against the boss in this level.
Step 9. Defeat the boss
To get Wario, you must defeat the boss of this level, Chief Chilly. To defeat him, hit him until he falls into the water three times. Don't let you fall into the water because you will get hurt, just like falling into lava.
- Fighting Chilly is basically the same as fighting Bulies at the lava level. You can walk up to him and hit him, but you'll get hit easily this way. If you're brave, do a lunge at him (attack while running) to knock him far. When he's on the edge, hit him with a normal punch to drop him into the water.
- After you defeat him, pick up the key he dropped.

Part 2 of 2: Play as Wario
Step 1. Know Wario's strengths and weaknesses
Wario has a posture that is bigger and wider than the other characters. This means that Wario will attack stronger compared to other characters. Wario will defeat the enemy faster and hit him further. Its power can be a great choice for fighting and destroying objects that other characters can't destroy.

Step 2. Use Wario's metallic powers by collecting Power Flowers
Wario's special power is that he can turn his entire body into metal. This makes Wario very heavy and also immune to enemy attacks. It also makes him submerge in water. When he hits the bottom in the water, he will walk instead of swimming.
