Lag in Roblox can be quite annoying sometimes. The reason is, lag can make the game more difficult. Fortunately, there are several ways you can try to improve Roblox's performance. You degrade the image quality, improve your internet connection, or even delete some of the textures of the Roblox game. This wikiHow provides a guide to reducing lag on Roblox.

Method 1 of 5: Reducing Roblox Image Quality
Step 1. Open Roblox
To open a Roblox game, visit https://www.roblox.com/home and select one of the games on the page. This will display the game information page.
Step 2. Click the Play button
It's a green button with a triangular Play logo to the right of the game's image. By selecting this button, the Roblox game will open.
If you haven't installed the Roblox Player application, an installation window will appear in the middle of the screen. Click the Download and Install Roblox button in the middle of the window to download the Roblox installer application. Click the Roblox installer file to install Roblox
Step 3. Press Esc or ☰.
This button is shaped like three horizontal lines located in the left corner of the screen and serves to display the game menu.
Step 4. Click
Settings.
This button is the second option at the top of the menu page. This button will display the “Settings” menu.
Step 5. Change Graphics Mode to "Manual"
Click the arrow next to "Graphics Mode" to switch the image adjustment mode to manual. When “Graphics Mode” is in the “Automatic” setting, Roblox will automatically optimize the image settings to match your computer's specifications. By moving this option to "Manual", you can manually adjust the game's image quality.
Step 6. Lower the image quality
To lower the image quality, click the button with the minus sign (-) next to "Graphics Quality" in the "Settings" menu. This will decrease the image quality by one level. Image quality is at its lowest when there is only one blue bar.
Method 2 of 5: Boosting Internet Connection
Step 1. Restart (restart) the modem or router
Roblox is an online game. If your internet connection is not good, game performance will decrease. If the internet connection is slow, turn off the modem or router and then turn it on again. Wait a few moments for the modem or router to turn on again.
Step 2. Close other apps and turn off the internet connected device
If there are a lot of applications open while Roblox is playing, close these applications. Also turn off any internet-connected phone, tablet, or game console.
Step 3. Use an ethernet cable
If your computer is connected to the internet via a wireless connection, the internet connection will be more stable if you use an ethernet cable. Connect the Ethernet cable to one of the LAN slots on the modem or router. After that, connect the cable to your computer or laptop.
Step 4. Improve modem and/or router performance
If your modem or router is more than 3 years old, you may need to upgrade its performance. Some newer modems and routers can support faster internet connections.
Step 5. Choose a better internet package
If your internet connection is still slow, you may need to contact your internet service provider to choose a faster internet package. You may be able to increase your internet speed by choosing a new plan.
Method 3 of 5: Upgrading Computer Specifications
Step 1. Replace the graphics card
Roblox recommends an AMD Radeon R7 graphics card with 2GB of memory or a better graphics card. If the computer is more than 5 years old, or the laptop is more than 3 years old, you may need to replace the computer hardware. You can install a new graphics card yourself, or with professional help.
Step 2. Replace the processor
Roblox recommends a processor with a speed of 1.6 GHz or more. You can install the new processor yourself, or with professional help.
Step 3. Add computer RAM
Roblox requires at least 1GB of RAM. Every computer requires RAM with a certain chip. Once you know your computer's RAM chip, you can easily install new RAM. Simply open the computer case and then insert the RAM into the RAM slot.
Method 4 of 5: Removing Textures in Windows
Remember, textures that have been deleted cannot be restored. It's best not to remove textures to make the game look more realistic and interesting.
Step 1. Click the button
This button has the Windows logo and is located in the lower-left corner of the Windows bar.
Step 2. Write Run
This action aims to find the Run application.
Step 3. Click Run
This button is located at the top of the Windows Start menu after searching for the word “Run”. This button has a blue rectangle icon on top of another rectangle.
Step 4. Type %appdata% in the Run app then press Enter
This will open the Appdata/roaming folder in Windows Explorer.
Step 5. Click AppData in the address bar
It's in the Windows Explorer address bar, just behind "Roaming". This will redirect you to the "AppData" folder. After entering the "AppData" folder, you will find three folders named "Local", "LocalLow", and "Roaming".
Step 6. Open the Local folder
This is the first folder in the "AppData" folder. Double click to open it.
Step 7. Open the Roblox folder
The folders will be sorted alphabetically. Once you find the Roblox folder, double-click it to open it.
Step 8. Open the Versions folder
Once you find the "Versions" folder, double-click it to open it.
Step 9. Select the folder with the latest version
The folder is named "Version-", with the version number at the end of its name. For example, "version-3869b9a252924b06". Double click to open this folder.
Step 10. Open the PlatformContent folder
Once you find the "PlatformContent" folder, double-click it to open it.
Step 11. Open the PC folder
After finding the PC folder, double-click it to open it.
Step 12. Open the textures folder
This is the last folder in the PC folder.
Step 13. Delete all folders
The "textures" folder holds several other folders. This folder also stores two files named "studs" and "wangIndex". Do not delete these two files. Press Ctrl and click all the folders (except the "studs" and "wangIndex" files) to select them. Then press Delete to delete it.
Step 14. Empty the recycling bin
The recycling bin has an icon that resembles a trash can and is located on the desktop. Right click and select Empty recycling bin to empty the recycling bin.
Step 15. Play ROBLOX
Without textures, the game will run more smoothly. However, some objects may look less attractive.
Method 5 of 5: Removing Textures on Mac

This app has a blue and white icon that looks like a smiling face. This app is located in the Dock, at the bottom of the screen.

This application is located in the Applications folder. This will display a menu to the right of Roblox.app.

This is the second option in the menu that appears when right-clicking an application in the Applications folder. This will display the application files and folders.
Step 5. Double-click Contents
This is the folder that appears at the top of the window after the Package Contents is displayed.
Step 6. Double-click the Resources folder
The entire folder will be sorted alphabetically. Once you find the "Resources" folder, double-click it to open it.
Step 7. Open the PlatformContents folder
Once you find the “Platform Contents” folder in the “Resources” folder, double-click it to open it.
Step 8. Open the {{MacButton|PC} folder
This folder is located in the "PlatformContent" folder. Double click to open it.
Step 9. Open the textures folder
This is the last folder in the “PC” folder. Double click to open it.
Step 10. Delete all folders
The "textures" folder contains many folders. This folder also contains two files named "studs" and "wangIndex". Do not delete these two files.
