This wikiHow teaches you how to make a big cannon in the Creative mode Minecraft game. While it's still technically possible to craft cannons in Survival mode, the overall energy and time it takes to collect all the materials will make it very difficult for you to do so. You can build the cannon described in this article in all versions of Minecraft, namely on computer, console, and mobile editions.

Step 1. Open the Creative menu
How to do it:
- Computer Edition - Press the E button.
- Pocket Edition - Tap ⋯
- Console Edition - Press the button box (for PlayStation) or X (for Xbox).
Step 2. Place the materials for making cannons in your inventory
Move the following items from the creative inventory to the equip bar:
- 16 blocks - These can be any block from wool to diamond, but we recommend using obsidian or iron.
- 1 slab - It can come from any material.

Step 11. redstone
- 1 bucket of water
- 2 lever
- 5 blocks of TNT
Step 3. Lay out a row of blocks containing 7 blocks
Make sure to face at least one end of the line in the direction you want to shoot.
Step 4. Place a block on the left side of the last block
You will now have a row 7 blocks long and an inverted "L" shape.
Step 5. Place another row of blocks which also contains 7 blocks
This new row should be placed parallel to the first row, starting from the left side of the last block you have placed. This will result in a "U" shaped building 7 blocks long and 3 blocks wide.
Step 6. Place the last block on top of the front left block
This block is on the top left of the "U"-shaped building.
Step 7. Place the slab at the mouth of the "U" shaped building
The slab will be directly attached to the right between the front left block and the right front block.
Step 8. Pour water into the back of the cannon
Pour water down the bottom of the "U" shaped building so that it forms a channel that starts from the rear of the cannon until it reaches the slab. This will move the TNT forward when you place it later.
Step 9. Place the buttons on the back left block and on the back right
These two buttons serve as triggers for the cannon.
Leave the block in the middle empty. Don't put anything here, especially things that aren't redstone
Step 10. Place a row of redstone starting from the left button to the end of the left intersection
This line of redstone must be stretched until it reaches the last block, including the one you placed on the last block on the left.
Step 11. Place a row of redstone starting from the right button to the second to the last block
This row of redstone must be stretched until it reaches the block that is placed before the block that is in contact with the slab.
The redstone row must be longer than the aqueduct
Step 12. Place a block of TNT on the slab
It will serve as a projectile.
Step 13. Place up to 4 blocks of TNT in the row behind the slab
You can place this TNT block from the back to the second to last water block, but the source water block must still be present.
Step 14. Fire the cannon
When you're ready, press the button on the right, then immediately press the left button. The TNT in the front will fall onto the slab as four blocks of TNT move toward it. When the TNT block explodes, the TNT in the front will move forward.
- The accuracy of the cannon will vary depending on how fast you press the left button. If you wait too long, the first TNT block will just float up, then explode.
- Do not press the left button first because it can make the cannon explode.
Tips
- You don't have to place your cannon in the middle of an empty area. Try placing it in a building.
- One great option for a cannon is a steel box.
- The higher the cannon, the farther the range.
Warning
- Build the cannon in a place away from your home, storage locations, and other items you like just in case the cannon doesn't work and shoots TNT in all directions.
- Building a cannon in Survival mode is very difficult because you have to kill Creepers in order to get the materials needed to make TNT.
