This wikiHow teaches you how to change themes on the Nintendo Switch. You can choose between plain white or plain black in the System Settings menu. For now, Nintendo is not offering the option to purchase or download additional themes for the Nintendo Switch. This feature will likely be added in the future.

Step 1. Turn on the Nintendo Switch
Press the Nintendo Switch power button in the upper-left corner of the console to turn it on. It's a round button with a circle icon in it, and it's next to the volume buttons on the left.
Step 2. Press the Home button
This Home button resembles the house to the right of the right joy-con controller. You will be taken to the home screen.
Step 3. Select the gear icon

To select an option on the Nintendo Switch, double-tap on the screen or use the left joy-con controller to hover and press A on the right joy-con to select it
Step 4. Select Themes
Here is the eleventh option in the System Settings menu. All options in the System Settings menu are displayed in the left sidebar.
Step 5. Select Basic White or Basic Black.
Currently, only these two themes are available for the Nintendo Switch. Options to buy and download themes will likely be added in the future. Keep your system up to date and keep track of the news when you start your console for the latest Nintendo updates and news.
