The popular shooting game from Epic Games, Fortnite can indeed be played for free. However, this game also offers the option to buy additional characters or skins for the players. Epic uses a system called “V-Bucks” so players can buy skins and other “cosmetics”. You can get V-Bucks by buying them (using real money/funds of course) through the PlayStation Store. Step 1. Press the PS button to access the PlayStation dashboard
Step 2. Choose Fortnite and press the button X to run it.
The exact position of the Fortnite box/tile on the dashboard will vary depending on the games and other apps you have installed on the console.
Step 3. Press X on the splash screen
The game will continue to load after that.
Step 4. Choose Battle Royale on the “Select Game Mode” page and press the button X.
You can't buy skins while in other Fortnite modes
Step 5. Press the triangle button on the controller on the “News” page
You will be taken to the “Fortnite Item Shop” page.
Step 6. Mark the skin you want to buy and press the X button
You will be taken to the selected skin page.
Only a few skins are available in the “Item Shop” at a time. The selection of skins available in the “Item Shop” rotates every 24 hours
Step 7. Press the square button to select Purchase
The skin will be added to your Fortnite account.
- If there are additional accessories or “cosmetics” included with the skin, the button will have a Purchase Items label.
- If you don't have enough “V-Bucks” on your Fortnite account, the button will be labeled Get V-Bucks. If you press the button in this condition, you will be taken to the “Store” tile and can choose the amount of “V-Bucks” you need to buy. After that, go back to “Item Shop” and use “V-Bucks” to buy the selected skin.
- To view the collection of skins you have purchased, press the circle button on the controller and select Locker from the menu at the top of the screen. Mark the “Outfit” option on Locker and press the X button. A page with all the skin options saved on the account will load. Select a skin and press the X button to use it.
