This wikiHow teaches you how to set up and play Fortnite: Battle Royale on a computer, console, or mobile device, as well as learn how to survive the game.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Downloading and Setting Up Fortnite
Step 1. Download and install Fortnite
The game Fortnite: Battle Royale is free to download for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, iPhone, Android, Mac computers, and Windows PCs by going to the platform-specific app store and searching for Fortnite.
- If you find a paid version of Fortnite, the game is not Fortnite: Battle Royale.
- If you want to install Fortnite on a Windows computer, you will need to visit the Epic Games download page, clicking “ WINDOWS ”, double-clicking the downloaded installation file, selecting “ Install ”, and follow the prompts displayed on the screen.
Step 2. Open Fortnite
Select the Fortnite icon in the game library or the “Applications” folder to open it.
On a Windows computer, double-click the “ Epic Games Launcher ”.
Step 3. Create an account
On the login page, select the "Create Account" option, then enter your first and last name, desired display/user name, email address, and account password. Check the box " I have read and agreed to the terms of service ", then click " CREATE ACCOUNT ”.
On a Windows computer, click “ Sign Up ” before you enter your e-mail address, then select “ Install ” under the Fortnite heading and follow the on-screen instructions. After that, you can open Fortnite by clicking the “ Play ”.
Step 4. Select the game option
Determine the type of game currently active (eg. SQUADS ”), then select one of the following game types in the next menu:
- “Solo” - 100 players against each other.
- “Duo” - You and your teammates will play against 49 other teams.
- “Squads” - You and three teammates will play against 24 other teams.
- " Soaring 50's " - You and 49 players will play against 50 other players. In this mode, the glider can be re-deployed. (This mode is a Limited Time Mode [LTM]).
Step 5. Select PLAY
It's at the bottom of the page. Wait for the game to finish loading. After selecting the game type, you will be taken to the lobby with the other players. When the lobby is full, you will be added to the game with other players who were in the lobby.
Part 2 of 2: Playing Fortnite
Step 1. Understand the premise of Fortnite
Basically, Fortnite is an elimination system shooting game that emphasizes winning on one or two players, or the last remaining team. In order to successfully win the game, Fortnite players must be alert and able to observe the situation.
Survival in Fortnite is much more important than killing other players
Step 2. Get to know some of the basic rules or conventions of Fortnite
There are a few key conventions that Fortnite uses to add surprises to gameplay:
- Entry Point - All Fortnite players start the game from the same location (flying bus). Players have to jump off the bus in order to land on the island below.
- Pickaxe or “Pickaxe” - Fortnite players start the game with a pickaxe as their weapon in their inventory. This pickaxe can be used for a variety of purposes, from fighting other players to gathering resources.
- Resources or “Resources” - Resources such as wood can be collected using a pickaxe from objects such as houses and trees. These elements can be used to build things, such as towers or barricades.
- Hurricane or “Storm” - A hurricane is a convention of slowly rendering parts or areas outside of the map unplayable as the game progresses. The outer areas of the map are inaccessible due to the storm expanding inward at certain moments of the match (eg after 3 minutes). If caught in a storm, your character can die slowly.
Step 3. Avoid the storm
After the game has passed the 3 minute time limit, a storm will appear in the outer area of the map. This storm will "develop" so that the area that can be played is getting narrower and forcing the players to be forced to "get closer". If you get caught in a storm, your health will drop rapidly. Eventually, your character will die if you stay too long in a storm-affected area.
Hurricanes usually kill several players in the middle or towards the end of the game. Therefore, make sure you observe the position of the storm during the match
Step 4. Try playing “safe” at the start of the game
To win matches in Fortnite, all you have to do is survive until the other players die. This is easier said than done, but the best way to survive is to avoid risks and encounters with other players.
More aggressive strategies are often used in Fortnite, but this type of strategy is usually better suited for more experienced and fast-paced players
Step 5. Jump up to the Tilted Tower
Most Fortnite players will jump off the bus at the start of the game, or upon seeing a large settlement on land. Instead of following other players, try to get off the bus at the last second, and jump over small houses or villages rather than larger residential areas.
With this method, you will be on the outskirts of the map. This means that you will need to move further than the other players to avoid the storms that later appear in the gameplay
Step 6. Get weapons as soon as possible
While your pickaxe can be used as a last resort if necessary, other weapons such as assault rifles (assault rifles), sniper rifles (sniper rifles), and shotguns usually help you dominate the battles in Fortnite.
Keep in mind that having a gun is better than being unarmed at all. Therefore, it doesn't matter if you use a pistol or submachine gun when you can't find the weapon you want. You can always change the weapon you use later
Step 7. Use resources to build shelter when needed
Use your pickaxe to pick up wood or stone and collect resources that you can use to build towers, barricades, walls, and other objects. Player-created shelters are usually conspicuous, but provide at least some "layer" of protection against enemy players if they notice your presence.
Instead of using resources to build shelters, you can take shelter in existing buildings (eg houses) or hide in objects such as bushes
Step 8. Make sure your back to the water or ocean area
Aim your character towards the center of the map and back to the ocean to reduce the risk of other players following you, especially when a storm starts to form.
- Waters or storms are areas or areas where you will never be attacked by other players. This means that water or storms are the only “corners” from which to escape the enemy.
- Make sure you don't get caught between the battle and the storm because this situation forces you to join the fight in a fight that may be too sadistic or strong.
Step 9. Communicate with teammates if necessary
When you play “Duo” or “Squad” mode, it's important that you talk to your teammates about enemy locations, resources you've found, and things like that.
- You will not communicate with other players while playing the “Solo” game mode.
- You can also notify your teammates when you're injured or attacked so they can come to find and revive your character.
Step 10. Observe the enemy before fighting him
You can tell what type of weapon he has from a distance. This is important to remember if you are having trouble finding a powerful weapon because when you fight a player who has an assault rifle using a pistol, the consequences will be fatal.
- Instead of fighting back, try to hide if the enemy has weapons or is in a better position.
- It is important that you observe the behavior of the target. If an enemy is running around looking for items to loot, you have a better chance of catching him when he's not alert than when he's being held in a dungeon.
Step 11. Look for enemies in common hiding places
Bushes, houses, and other common hiding places are usually occupied by enemies, especially in the mid or late stages of the game when more players are gathered in the same location.
Fortnite players are usually quite creative when it comes to hiding places. If you hear a player's voice in the house, but can't find it, it's a good idea to run away immediately rather than keep looking for it
Step 12. Keep playing
Like any other online shooting game, Fortnite has a steep learning curve in the early stages of the game, and the only way to follow to develop your skills is to keep playing.
