Do you feel ridiculed when you see the last empty space in Fire Red's Pokedex? The space belongs to Mew, and sadly, there is no longer any legal way to capture it, as Mew is a Pokémon that is exclusively shared at Nintendo events only. The only way to get Mew these days is to exchange it from a friend or use a code.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Getting Mew through Exchange
Step 1. Find a friend who has Mew
Getting Mew through the exchange is the only legitimate way now. Mew is an Event Pokémon, so it is only available in events held in 2006.
There is an error in the game that is reported to work to find Mew, but this method only works for the original Pokémon game. This method is useless in Pokémon Fire Red
Step 2. Collect good Pokémon that can be exchanged for friends
Mew is a very rare Pokémon, and your friends won't give it away easily. You'll need to come up with an attractive offer, so make sure that you have a few good selections of Pokémon and be prepared to part with the high-quality Pokémon you have. to get it.
- Any legendary Pokémon can be an interesting option to trade, including Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Raikou, Entei, and Suicune. Also, if you have legendary Pokémon that you can only get through certain events, like Lugia and Ho-oh, you'll be able to exchange Mew from friends more easily.
- Mewtwo may have to be offered as a trade-in for you to get Mew.
- Do EV training on the Pokémon you want to trade. A group of Pokémon that have undergone a good EV training have a much higher exchange rate than a Pokémon that has just been caught. Take the time to build your team before swapping.
Step 3. Swap Pokémon
Once you've managed to convince your friends to trade Pokémon, connect your game system and friends, then complete the Pokémon exchange process! Leave once you've managed to get your hands on one of the rarest Pokémon in the game in a legal way.
Method 2 of 2: Using Action Replay Code
Step 1. Start a game of Pokémon Fire Red with an emulator
Step 2. Save the game using the emulator
The emulator has a feature you can use to take "snapshots" of your game, so you can get back to playing it quickly. The way "Snapshot" works is different from the normal game saving process, so you can go back to the point you saved just in case the code doesn't work. If you are using VBA, click "File" → "Save"', then select an empty storage space.
It is possible that you will get a Bad Egg instead of Mew, and the Bad Egg can ruin the game. You will have to reload the save file you created earlier if this happens. Loading the save file will cancel the code you have entered and save your game
Step 3. Click "Cheats" → "Cheat list"
By doing this, the "Cheat list" window will open, and you can enter cheats.
Step 4. Click
Gameshark….
While you will be entering the Action Replay code, you will be using the Gameshark code tool.
Step 5. Enter "Mew" into the Description field, then copy the code below and paste it into the Code field
Click OK after pasting the following code:
17543C48 E65E0B97
B751BDF4 95CEF4CC
Step 6. Walk through the tall grass until you come face to face with Mew
Once the code above is activated, Mew will be the first Pokémon you encounter. Mew will be on a level not much different from any other wild Pokémon in the area where you find it.
Step 7. Capture Mew to add her to the Pokédex
You should catch Mew the same way you would catch any other Pokémon. Reduce Mew's blood to increase your chances of catching it when you throw a Poké Ball.
Step 8. Turn off the code once you are done
Once you've created Mew, go back to the "Cheat list" window, then turn off the code in it to get the game back to normal.
