Motorola routers (routers) process signals from your internet service provider and then send them to your network. Modems usually don't need to be tampered with, unless you're having trouble connecting and suspect the cause is in the modem. Step 1. Open a web browser
You can access your Motorola modem through the browser on your computer or network-connected device.

Step 2. Enter the modem address into the address box in the browser
Most Motorola modems can be accessed by entering "192.168.100.1" into the address box and pressing "Enter". This page may take some time to load.
Step 3. Read the modem status report
After the page loads, a modem status report will appear. Here you can judge whether everything is working as it should. The numbers shown are a snippet of the current status.
- Uptime: This is how long your modem has been powered on.
- CM Status: This is the cable modem status. A cable modem that is working properly will display the words "OPERATIONAL".
- SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio): This is how much signal interference there is. The higher the value, the better, and the value must be above 25-27.
- Power: This is a measurement of the strength of the incoming signal. A lower number, let alone negative, can be associated with a poor signal. The recommended range for Downstream power is -12 dB to 12 dB, and the recommended range for Upstream power is 37 dB to 55 dB.
