Method 1 of 2: Cleaning the Touch Screen with a Microfiber Cloth
Step 1. Choose a microfiber cloth, because this cloth is suitable for wiping touch screens
Some devices include a microfiber wipe in the package, or you can use a wipe for your sunglasses.
Prices for microfiber wipes vary. Recommended wipes for certain products are usually quite expensive, simply because of the recommendations. Find a discount on these wipes, or replace them with cheap but still effective microfiber wipes
Step 2. Turn off the device before cleaning the touch screen to make it easier for you to find the dirty spots on the screen
Step 3. Wipe the screen with a microfiber cloth
Swipe the screen in small circles to remove minor smudges.
Step 4. Moisten a cloth (you can also use the edge of your garment), then wipe the screen with the cloth
You may also be able to breathe over the screen and use the moisture to clean the screen. Do this step only when absolutely necessary.
- Read the manual for the washcloth you are using. Some washcloths need to be slightly dampened before use. If your washcloth needs to be moistened first, skip this step, and follow the washcloth's guidelines.
- We recommend that you dampen the cloth with distilled water or a special touch screen cleaner.
Step 5. Wipe the screen again with the cloth to complete the cleaning process
However, don't rub the screen too hard. If the sail is still damp, let the sails air out.
Do not press too hard on the screen when cleaning it
Step 6. Wash the microfiber cloth by soaking it in warm, soapy water
Warm water works to open the fibers in the cloth and remove dirt in the fibers. Rub the lapo slowly while soaking, but do not rub the cloth too hard so that the cloth is not damaged. After soaking the rag, do not wring it out. Dry the cloth in a dry way. If you're in a hurry, you may want to tumble dry. Do not wipe the screen with a damp cloth, until the cloth is dry or slightly damp.
Method 2 of 2: Eliminating Bacteria with Alcohol Gel
This method is recommended to kill bacteria on the screen, however, do not clean the screen with alcohol gel too often.
Step 1. Prepare hand sanitizer or alcohol gel
Step 2. Put a small amount of gel on a piece of tissue
Step 3. Clean the screen with the tissue
Step 4. Use a clean microfiber cloth to remove any remaining stains, if any
Tips
- If you absolutely must clean the screen and don't have a microfiber washcloth, use a cotton cloth or cloth edge.
- Make sure the device is turned off before you start cleaning the screen.
- If possible, use a case on the device, to avoid defects from bumps, scratches and smudges.
- You can also purchase a screen cleaning kit, which usually includes an antistatic wipe. However, sometimes the price of this package is too expensive. Research before buying.
- Clean the screen cleaning cloth regularly. Wash the rag to remove any accumulated smudges from the screen.
- Isopropyl alcohol is the best material for cleaning screens, both TV and cell phones. This alcohol does not leave a trace, and can be purchased from the nearest chemical store. This alcohol is used to clean new computers before they are shipped.
Warning
- Do not clean the screen with saliva. Saliva will imprint, and must be cleaned.
- Do not press too hard on the screen when cleaning, so as not to damage the screen.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners to clean the touch screen.
- Do not use products containing ammonia to clean the screen, unless the product is recommended by the device manufacturer. Ammonia can damage the screen.
- Do not use tissue paper, as the wood fibers can scratch the plastic. The scratches may not be noticeable at first, but over time, the scratches from the tissue will accumulate and make the screen difficult to read.
- Avoid spraying water or liquid directly on the screen, because if liquid gets into the device, your device may be damaged. Spray the liquid on a microfiber cloth, press the cloth to remove excess fluid, then wipe the screen with the cloth.
