While the video recorder built into Android devices currently doesn't offer the feature to add music to video clips, there are a variety of third-party apps that do. This wikiHow teaches you how to add music to videos on your Android device using Vidtrim, as well as some popular social media platforms like Instagram and Snapchat.

Method 1 of 3: Using Vidtrim
Step 1. Open Google Play Store
You can find these apps on your home screen or app drawer, or by searching for them.
You will see the Google Play Store home screen and a list of apps based on your activity on the device
Step 2. Search for Vidtrim
The search bar is at the top of the screen.

Step 3. Touch the green Install button
Vidtrim - Video Editor will be added to your device's home screen and app drawer
Step 4. Open Vidtrim
The app icon looks like a blue roll of film with a white pair of scissors in the middle. You can find this icon on your home screen or app drawer, or by searching for it.
Step 5. Touch Get Access
Vidtrim needs to access the device storage space in order to use it. A list of videos stored on the device will be displayed.
Step 6. Touch the video you want to add music to
You can see several video editing options, such as cropping, transcoding, merging, and saving as MP3 file features.
You can also see all the details regarding the video, such as its duration and storage directory
Step 7. Touch Transcode
The video will open and you will see several options to change the image size and video quality.
Step 8. Uncheck the box
beside Keep original audio.
The box will change from

. All audio will be removed from the video. If you cough while recording a video and want to get rid of the coughing sound, this step can remove unwanted sounds.
Step 9. Touch External Audio
The phone's internal storage space will be opened.
You must have saved music in your phone's storage space
Step 10. Find the music you want to add
You need to search for music that is already saved on your phone.
Step 11. Touch the transcode icon
This icon looks like a square made up of arrows at the top of the screen. The progress bar can be seen when the app adds music to the video.

The final video will be opened and played.
You can edit the videos and music playing by tapping the white pencil icon in the upper right corner of the screen
Step 13. Touch back button
It's in the top-left corner of the screen and will take you back to the list of videos.

Method 2 of 3: Using Instagram Stories
Step 1. Open Instagram
This app icon looks like a white camera on top of a yellow to purple gradient. You can find it on your home screen or app drawer, or by searching for it.
Sign in to your account if prompted
Step 2. Swipe the screen from left to right to open the camera
After that, the camera will be opened in Story mode.
You can also tap the camera icon in the upper-left corner of the screen
Step 3. Touch the circle button to take a photo for Story
You can also hold down the button to record a video, select an image or video from the gallery, or create a video with special effects such as “ Boomerang " or " Rewind ” at the bottom of the camera window.
You can touch the two arrow icon to change the active camera (from front camera to rear camera)
Step 4. Add text, stickers, hashtags, or animated GIFs to photos or videos (optional)
Tap the four icons to the right of the save button to see all the elements you can add to your photo or video.
Step 5. Touch the square sticker with the smiley face
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen, next to the circular smiley face icon. After that, the sticker menu will be opened.
Step 6. Touch the music sticker
The music list will be displayed and sorted by category (“Popular”, “Moods”, and “Genres”).

Your video and selected music will play.

Method 3 of 3: Using Snapchat
Step 1. Open the music player app
Some of the popular apps include Spotify and Google Music.
- You can't use the YouTube app unless you subscribe to the Premium service.
- Music should be playing, even if the music player app is not currently active (or displayed on the screen).
Step 2. Play the song you want to play on the video

This app icon looks like a white ghost on a yellow background. You can find it on your home screen or app drawer, or by searching for it.
Sign in to your account if prompted
Step 4. Touch and hold the shutter button
It's a large circle button at the bottom of the screen. The video will be recorded as long as you hold down the button.
- The music playing will also be recorded in the Snapchat video.
- You can select specific song parts with them video while the part is playing.
Step 5. Touch
The music video will be saved to the phone.
