This wikiHow teaches you how to disable the Google Assistant feature on your Android phone or tablet.

Step 1. Touch and hold the “Home” button
This button is displayed as a physical button or icon at the bottom center of the screen. After that, Google Assistant will be opened.

Step 2. Touch the drawer icon
It's a blue and white drawer icon with a handle in the top-right corner of the Google Assistant page.

Step 3. Touch
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Step 4. Touch Settings

Step 5. Touch Phone
It's in the middle of the menu, under the “Devices” section.

Step 6. Slide the “Google Assistant” switch to the off position
As long as this switch is off or grayed out, the Google Assistant feature will remain turned off on Android devices.
