This wikiHow teaches you how to change your WeChat ID after completing the first registration process. You can only change your WeChat ID once after the account is created.

Method 1 of 2: For iPhone
Step 1. Open the WeChat app
This app is marked by the icon of two white speech bubbles on a green background.
If you are not logged into your account, touch the “ Login ”, enter the account phone number and password, then select “ Login ”.
Step 2. Touch the Me button
It's in the lower-right corner of the screen.
If WeChat displays the conversation right away, first tap the back button in the top-left corner of the screen
Step 3. Touch Settings
This option is the last option displayed on the page.
Step 4. Touch Account Security
This option is at the top of the settings page (“Settings”).
Step 5. Touch WeChat ID
It's at the top of the screen.
If the text field is not displayed after you touch the option, you cannot change the WeChat ID anymore
Step 6. Type in the new WeChat ID
You can only change your ID once after downloading the WeChat app.
Step 7. Touch Save
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 8. Touch OK
After that, the new WeChat ID will be saved. You cannot change the WeChat ID again for the same account.
Method 2 of 2: For Android
Step 1. Open the WeChat app
