No ninja is ready for action without a few ninja stars and ready to go. This valuable tool is hard to find in stores and may not fit into the budget of a novice ninja. However, there are many methods you can use to create your own ninja star. Here are a few that are worth a look.
Step
Method 1 of 4: Ninja Star Plastic Bottle Cap
Step 1. Remove the plastic cap and ring from the plastic bottle
The bottle cap will be the base of your ninja star and the ring of the bottle cap will be the tip of the star.
-
Choose a plastic bottle with a plastic cap connected to a plastic ring. Sports drink bottles are the best choice because they have the largest bottle caps. You can also use a water bottle, tea bottle, or soda bottle.
-
Open the bottle cap as usual, separating it from the plastic ring it stuck to during the process.
-
It may take a little effort to remove the plastic rings as they are not meant to come off easily. Insert your nail on one side of the ring and pull it up as far as it will go. Switch insert your nails to the opposite side and do the same. This ring should have lifted higher on the second attempt. Continue to raise the ring until it is completely removed from the bottle.
Step 2. Turn the ring so that the part that should be on the inside is on the outside
Use your fingers to turn the plastic ring so that all the "thorns" or the point are facing out.
-
Push the inside of the ring to one side using your thumb.
-
Once you've turned one side over, it's now easier to turn the entire inside of the ring into the outside.
-
Keep in mind that the sharp edges may "bite" or "pinch" you as you do this. But to be honest, this point is not sharp enough to cause a scratch or cut.
Step 3. Insert the bottle cap into the ring
Insert the ring from the outside of the bottle cap all the way into the bottle cap.
-
Place the ring on the top of the bottle cap, aligning the opening of the ring with the top of the bottle cap as accurately as possible.
-
Use your thumb to push it down on one side of the ring until it reaches the edge of the bottle cap.
-
Gradually push your thumb around the circumference of the ring to push it into the bottle cap.
-
Once it's in, push the ring into the center of the bottle cap by pushing it down with your thumb and forefinger.
Step 4. Rearrange the sharps if needed
All sharp parts of the ring should pop outward.
-
Gently press your thumb across the sharp edge in the opposite direction of the sharp point. Doing so will make the "thorns" stand up.
-
Keep in mind that you may be scratching your thumb while doing this.
Step 5. Admire your work
Your ninja star is done.
-
Do not throw this ninja star at other animals or people. These items are harmless, but can still cause damage if you throw them at animals or people.
Method 2 of 4: Ninja Star Plastic Knife
Step 1. Cut the handles from four plastic knives
Use scissors or a sharp knife to cut the handles of the four plastic picnic knives.
-
Leave a 2.5 cm portion of the handle that attaches to the sharp part of the knife. This short part of the handle will be used to attach all the knives as the process goes on.
-
Remove the residue from the handle.
-
Glue the two knives together. Position the two plastic knives together, allowing them to pass through the remaining part of the handle. Secure it using tape.
Step 2. Glue the other two blades together
Glue the two knives the same way you glued the first two.
-
Skip the sharp edge on the remaining handle.
-
Remember that one knife should be facing left while the other is facing right.
-
Secure it using tape.
Step 3. Glue the two pairs of blades together
Place the center of one pair of knives on the center of another pair of knives. Secure everything with tape.
-
Remember that the four blades must appear to be pointing in the same direction.
Step 4. Smooth the edge of the knife, if you wish
Use sharp scissors or a knife to flatten the plastic at each end into 2.5 cm long ends.
This isn't necessary, but increasing the sharpness of each knife tip will make it easier for the ninja star to stick to cardboard or foam targets
Step 5. Check your star blade again
Shake the flat part of each knife using your thumb and forefinger. Add tape, as needed, to secure each knife and prevent it from falling off.
- This move ends your ninja star.
- Just throw your star at inanimate stuff like cardboard or foam. Never throw at people or animals.
Method 3 of 4: Office Supplies Ninja Star
Step 1. Place two X-acto knives next to each other
Line up the two knives so that the bases are next to each other. Remember that the sharp edges of the knife must be against each other.
The utility knife you use should be a “pen” type utility knife
Step 2. Carefully apply double-sided tape
Attach a square of double-sided tape to the base of both knives to temporarily secure them together.
If you don't have double-sided tape, you can use tape that you folded. Fold the tape with the non-stick side inside until the sticky side sticks. Add a little bit of tape so that the sticky part of one side sticks to the non-sticky side of the other, forming a circle
Step 3. Arrange the other two blades on top of the tape
Place the base of the other two knives on top of the tape. Press firmly.
-
Remember that the sharp part of the knife should be facing outward, and any sharp part pointing in the same direction.
-
The last two blades should be perpendicular to the first two blades.
Step 4. Strengthen the ninja star by using more tape
Wrap tape around the center of the ninja star to secure the blades in place.
Step 5. Avoid using tape on any part of the knife other than the base
-
Cut the tape three times from the center of your star. Cut it to 1/3 length and 1/2 width at the top right corner. Repeat the same cut on the bottom right corner.
-
Place the solid center on top at the top center of the ninja star. Gently fold the tape over the back of the star.
-
Repeat with another piece of tape, placing it on the opposite side of the star.
Step 6. Use with care
This ninja star is made using a real knife, and can cause serious damage if thrown at humans or animals. Throw your ninja stars at bulletin boards, cardboard targets, foam targets, and inanimate objects.
Method 4 of 4: Additional Ways to Create Ninja Stars
Step 1. Fold the origami ninja star out of paper
With various special folds, you can turn a square or rectangular paper into a ninja star with four edges. br>
- Make a ninja star out of square origami paper or make a ninja star out of rectangular thick paper. Many of the basic folds and techniques are similar, but there are variations.
- For something different, try folding a ninja star with eight ends. This ninja star origami can be made using sticky paper.
Step 2. Use a paperclip to make a ninja star
You can remove two paperclips and tighten them together to quickly make a simple four-pointed ninja star.
Step 3. Make a ninja star from the binder ring
If you have a pack of unused ring binders or three ring binders that you plan to throw away, keep two of the three rings and use them to make metal ninja stars.
Step 4. Try making a ninja star out of duct tape
At this time, duct tape can be used to make anything, including ninja stars. Start with a cardboard base and cover the bottom with metallic duct tape.
Step 5. Make a ninja star as sharp as nails
Glue the four nails together tightly to make a quick yet durable four-pointed ninja star.
Step 6. Use old CDs to become ninja stars
Outline the stars on the old CD and gently cut out the lines. Keep in mind that these ninja stars are better for decoration, not for throwing.
Step 7. Make a ninja star using an old can
Carefully cut the metal cover into a ninja star shape and smooth the edges to make it as realistic as possible.
Step 8. Make a ninja star from sheet metal
For a more realistic appearance, outline the ninja stars on sheet metal or thin metal. Then, cut it!
Step 9. Use thin wood to make a throwable ninja star
If working with metal excites you, try making a ninja star out of a piece of wood. Remember that the edges of the star must be sanded as well.
