Writing letters to Santa is a very fun Christmas tradition. A well-written letter will show him that you are a polite child. In addition, the letter makes it easier for him to prepare the gift you want. However, having millions of children around the world asking for gifts keeps him very busy. Start by thinking about what you want from the start. After that, write a good letter, decorate it, and give it to your parents to send to the north pole!
Step
Part 1 of 3: Preparing for Letter Writing
Step 1. Write down the things you want a few days in advance
Start writing your wishes down on a piece of paper a few days before you write your letter to Santa. Review your wish list as often as possible and reconsider the things you write down. Remove the things you don't really want, and keep the things you really want.
Santa gets so many letters from children around the world that sometimes he can't give him everything on his wish list. This is why it is important for you to list only the things that you really want
Step 2. Play Christmas music
You must have a strong Christmas spirit when you write letters to Santa, and Christmas music will make your spirits high and burning! Play Christmas music on the radio, cell phone or computer. If necessary, ask your parents for help.
Step 3. Select the paper to use
You can choose a simple plain white sheet of paper, or choose paper with a small frame. You can also use colorful thick cardboard. Whatever type of paper you choose, make sure you have several sheets ready in case you ever make a mistake and need to rewrite your letter.
- Ask your parents if they have any unique paper you can use.
- You can also use a ready-made Christmas card if you want. Ask your parents if they have the card.
Step 4. Choose the stationery you want to use
You can use a pen or pencil. In addition, you can also use crayons, colored pencils, and markers. If you want, combine the use of different writing tools such as markers and colored pencils to create a colorful letter.
Make sure you write your letter clearly and neatly using the selected stationery. Your letter must be legible so Santa can bring you the gifts you want
Part 2 of 3: Writing Letters
Step 1. Write down your home address
Start by writing the full address in the upper-left corner of the letter. Write down your address carefully so Santa can find out where you live and write you a reply. On the second line, write the date the letter was written.
Ask your parents for help if you don't know exactly how to write your home address
Step 2. Begin your letter with a “Hello, Santa Claus”
This type of greeting is known as a greeting. Going forward, you should always start your letter with a greeting so that writing a letter to Santa can be a proper letter-writing exercise.
Step 3. Tell Santa how you are doing
He certainly knows and knows how you are because all year round, he always looks out for you! However, he gets so many letters that he needs to recognize the one you sent. Include your name and add your age if you want.
You could write, for example, “My name is _. I'm _ years old."
Step 4. Ask how he is
Always show respect and courtesy by asking how the recipients of your letters, including Santa Claus, are doing. You can ask her about the weather at the North Pole, how is Mrs. Santa Claus, or whether the reindeer liked the food you gave them last year.
Show a good attitude so that your chances of getting into the list of good kids are even greater
Step 5. Tell Santa all the good things you did this year
He must be very busy so he needs to know how good you are all this time. Tell us about your achievements in school and the good things you did for your family and friends. Say that you have also been listening to your parents' words carefully. Don't forget to be honest! Santa is always watching you so he will know if you are lying.
You could write, “I helped my sister untie her shoelaces last week” or “I immediately cleaned my room when my parents asked me to.”
Step 6. Ask Santa for the things you want politely
Take a look at the wish list created a few weeks ago and make some of the gifts you've been craving. After that, politely ask Santa for the gifts by letter. Remember to include the words “Please” or “Help”!
You could write, “Santa Claus, please give me a soccer ball, scooter, and a new pair of shoes.”
Step 7. Submit a request for someone else if you wish
Of course it's nice when you can get gifts from Santa Claus on Christmas Day. However, don't forget that Christmas is a time of love and affection. Think of the other people in your life. Find out if there are any wishes or gifts you want for them.
- Let's say your mom really likes chocolate. You can ask Santa to give him some chocolate bars. Try saying, for example, "Please give my mom two chocolate bars too because she likes them so much!"
- Your request doesn't have to be a gift. You can say a good prayer or request for the people you care about. You can wish everyone in your family a Merry Christmas, or wish your sister a speedy recovery from her injured arm.
Step 8. End the letter by saying thank you
Sending millions of gifts to children around the world in one night can be exhausting. So don't forget to thank Santa for his kindness.
- You could say, “Thank you for the kindness and generosity of Santa Claus. I really appreciate it!”
- You could also write something like, “I'm amazed that Santa Claus is able to send gifts every year to kids like me around the world. Thank you very much."
Step 9. Mark your letter
Use closings such as “with respect” or “regards of love”. After that, write your name below it.
For example, you could write, "Greetings, Elisabeth."
Part 3 of 3: Decorating and Sending Letters
Step 1. Draw a picture on the letter
When you're done writing your letter, you can decorate it however you want! You can draw a Christmas tree, a reindeer, or a snowman. You can also draw Santa Claus! Of course, he would love it.
- Use crayons, markers, colored pencils, and pens to create a variety of Christmas-themed drawings.
- Don't worry if you make a mistake. Santa loves small mistakes. However, you can still redo your drawing if you want.
Step 2. Add a frame to the letter
If you want, you can draw a frame around the letter. You can make a frame of any shape! Try a simple line drawing as a letter frame, or make a frame out of a star-studded Christmas tree.
Step 3. Put the address on the envelope
Ask your parents for an envelope, and put your letter in it. On the front of the envelope, write “Santa Claus, North Pole” in large, clear letters. This way, the postal officer can find out the address for sending your letter. Glue your envelope when you're done.
You can also decorate your letter envelope
Step 4. Give your letter to your parents so they can send it
Your parents certainly know how to send your letter to Santa. After that, your letter will be sent to the north pole. Santa will be amazed by all the effort you put into writing him a letter.
Maybe you can ask your parents to show you where the north pole is on a map so you know the purpose of your letter. The North Pole looks really cold, doesn't it?
