Decorating easter eggs is a fun activity you can do with your kids. There are various ways that can be used to make colorful eggs without the need for traditional equipment. Always boil eggs until cooked before decorating them. After boiling them for 10 minutes on the stove and letting them cool for a while, the eggs are ready to be decorated! Gather your equipment and get to work.

Method 1 of 4: Coloring Easter Eggs
Step 1. Boil the eggs
Put the eggs in a pot of water. Turn on medium heat. Boil the eggs for about 15 minutes. Next, remove the eggs and let them cool.
While waiting for the eggs to cook while boiling, take the time to cover the area you will be coloring with newspaper or paper towels
Step 2. Fill the dye solution into the container
If you only colored one egg, just use a plastic cup (240 ml volume). However, for coloring multiple eggs, we recommend using a larger plastic container. Pour in cup of water, a teaspoon of white vinegar, and about 20 drops of any food coloring. Make a solution that will completely submerge the eggs.

Step 3. Soak the eggs for 5 minutes
Place the egg on a spoon and dip it into the dye solution. Flip the eggs so that the entire surface is colored. Let the eggs soak for 5 minutes. Or, leave it longer if you want a darker color.
Step 4. Make colorful eggs
You can make at least two-colored eggs by soaking half of them in two different solutions. This method works best on eggs that have just been boiled and haven't been colored. Hold the egg half so that only half is submerged in the dye. After about 5 minutes, soak the other side of the egg in a different dye solution.

Step 5. Remove the eggs
You can use tongs to slowly remove the egg. Put the egg in the box until it dries. The eggs are now ready to be used as decoration.
Method 2 of 4: Making Sparkling Eggs
Step 1. Use plastic eggs
Real eggs are difficult to use in this way because they break easily. So, the best choice is plastic eggs or eggs from paper pulp. You can use any color eggs you like.
Step 2. Paint the eggs
You don't have to paint the eggs if they are the same color as the glitter you are going to use. However, if the eggs aren't already that color, choose an acrylic paint color that's the same color as the glitter powder. Use a paint brush or sponge to apply 2 or 3 coats of paint to the surface of the egg. Wait for the paint on the eggs to dry completely before continuing.
Step 3. Apply Mod podge glue
Use a different sponge to apply a thick layer of Mod podge glue to the surface of the egg. Make sure the entire surface of the egg is coated with Mod podge. This step might make a mess, and your fingers will most likely be coated with glue.
You can use baby wipes to remove the glue from your fingers
Step 4. Pour the glitter over the eggs
Put the eggs in a plastic cup. Point the pointy part of the egg upwards. Pour the glitter over the eggs. Gently shake the plastic cup so that the powder coats the eggs. You can add more colored powder if necessary.
Step 5. Let the eggs dry
Once coated with colorful powder, leave the eggs for 30-60 minutes to dry. You can leave the eggs in the cup while they dry, or you can put them in the egg box.
Method 3 of 4: Painting Eggs
Step 1. Boil the eggs
Boil eggs until cooked for 15 minutes. Let it cool. Put it in the refrigerator if you want to speed up the cooling process.
Step 2. Use acrylic paint
Acrylic paint is suitable for eggs because it coats and adheres well to the surface. You can use any brand of acrylic paint and any color you like. Use paint brushes to create interesting pictures. Because of the small size of the eggs, it's a good idea to prepare a pointed tip of paint to make a more detailed image.

Step 3. Paint the half of the egg first
You can make any image. You can paint with just one color, paint geometric patterns and shapes, or turn eggs into cute animals, like birds. To prevent the paint from fading, allow the egg to dry before painting the other half.
Step 4. Create a sponge effect
You can use this technique if the eggs have been painted a solid color. Wait for the first coat of paint to dry. Then, use a dry sponge to apply white paint to the surface of the egg. Don't use too much paint. Use a light coat of white paint and run the sponge all over the surface of the egg.
Step 5. Allow the eggs to dry
Wait 10-15 minutes for the eggs to dry. Hold the eggs carefully as you move them. Show off these Easter eggs however you like.
Method 4 of 4: Using an Old Tie
Step 1. Look for a silk tie
Use a tie that you no longer use. This tie must be 100% silk because other materials will not be able to color the eggs. Choose a tie with an interesting pattern. Dark purple, blue, and red ties will work best.
- You don't have to wear a nice tie. Even worse looking ties can sometimes make the best eggs.
- If you don't have a tie to work with, you can buy cheap used silk ties at some flea stores.
Step 2. Open the tie seams
Opening the hem of the tie will double in size so that it is enough to coat the eggs. Open the seam on the part of the tie that is easy to wrap around the egg. You need a tie that can coat the eggs as well as tied together. Leave about 5 cm of tie material.
Step 3. Wrap the egg in a tie
Wrap the tie around the egg. The front side of the tie (the side you see when you put it on) should be in direct contact with the surface of the egg. Wrap the tie around the egg as tightly as possible without breaking it.

Step 4. Keep the tie in position with the cable tie
Use a cable tie to keep the tie on the end of the egg. You can also use a rope, but a cable tie will be much easier to use. Place the tie on the wide side of the egg if you want the tie pattern to show through on the reverse side. Tie the eggs horizontally if you want the tie pattern to be more pronounced on the wide side of the egg.
Step 5. Coat the second layer on the egg
Use light, brightly colored fabrics. You can use pillowcases, thin dishcloths, or sheets. Wrap this cloth tightly around the egg, and hold it in place with a cable tie.
Step 6. Boil the eggs
Put the eggs in the pan. Pour water until the eggs are submerged. Add 1/4 cup (50 g) of vinegar. Boil the eggs for about 20 minutes. Then remove it from the stove and put it in a colander or place it on a towel to dry.
Step 7. Let the eggs cool
Before touching, allow about 10 minutes for the eggs to cool. Then remove the cloth. Be careful when handling freshly colored eggs.

Tips
- Cover the place to decorate the eggs with cloth or old newspaper so it doesn't fall apart.
