Big eyes are the dream of many people. With a few simple tricks, you can also make your eyes appear bigger and more dramatic.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Maximize Eye Size Naturally
Step 1. Get enough sleep
If you often stay up late, of course you know that red and dry-looking eyes are the result of a lack of sleep. Adequate sleep is a must if you want to maximize the size of your eyes. Eyes need at least five hours of rest per night to rejuvenate. However, you need at least seven hours to feel refreshed every day.
Step 2. Drink water
Puffy eyes are known to be the result of dehydration. By meeting the needs of body fluids, puffy eyes can be avoided. The target of drinking water per day is eight glasses. If you have trouble drinking water every day, bring a water bottle that can always be refilled. Drink it whenever you think of water. There are many benefits of drinking water. You will not only look fresh, but also feel fresher.
Step 3. Moisturize facial skin
Moisturizing the area around the eyes will improve the condition around the eyes, but other areas should not be left behind. Moisturizer can make the face look brighter, which in turn also makes the eyes look brighter. Use facial moisturizer for the face and eye moisturizer for the area around the eyes. The eye moisturizer is designed to be very gentle making it perfect for sensitive areas.
You can use a regular moisturizer for the skin around the eyes, but an eye moisturizer works better. Eye moisturizers are especially helpful if the skin around your eyes is prone to wrinkles
Step 4. Massage the eyes
Gentle massage in the area around the eyes helps improve blood flow, improve the appearance of the eyes, and reduce dark circles. Gently massage the eyes in small circular motions. If you want to make eye massage a routine, buy a special eye roller that vibrates. These eye massagers are relatively inexpensive, can limit the transmission of oil between the hands and face, and are specifically designed to improve blood flow around the eyes.
If you massage with your hands, make sure there is no excess oil on your fingers. Oil can irritate the skin
Step 5. Exercise your eyes
If you want to improve the appearance of your body, the best way is to exercise. Although it cannot increase the size of the eyes, eye exercises can make the eyes stronger, this is important and should not be ignored.
- Alternately look at points near and far. This will force the eye to speed up the adaptation time.
- Gaze training will improve mobility and reaction time. Try moving your eyes in different directions. Keep your head in position, then look up, down, left, and right. Try to move your eyes as far as possible. This will maximize the effectiveness of the exercise.
Step 6. Adjust the eyes to the dim light
The pupil will adjust to changes in light. Being in a dark or dim place will force the pupil to dilate so that it can capture more light. Going to a dark place will automatically increase the size of the pupil, which in turn increases the size of the eye. Remember that the pupil reacts the other way around in bright light. So, you should not look at bright light if you want the pupil to dilate.
Some research shows that the pupil will shrink and dilate just by thinking about a place with different light. If you can't control the light, imagine you're in a dimly lit place and see if it has any effect on your eyes
Step 7. Use an eye mask
Wearing an eye mask for ten minutes will reduce inflammation around the eyes. If done regularly, the skin around the eyes will be softer, and the eyes will be more radiant. If you don't have an eye mask, you can rub ice cubes around your eyes for the same effect.
Method 2 of 3: Using Eye Makeup
Step 1. Apply eyeshadow
Eye shadow is an effective way to draw attention to your eyes and give them more volume. Eye shadow is great to use first as a color foundation for other makeup (like mascara and eyeliner). The color and shades of eyeshadow you choose should match your eye color. Eye shadow that is good for certain eye colors may not match other eye colors.
- Brown or black eyes can wear any color. Purple is a great color for brown eyes.
- Blue eyes work best with earth tones like browns or grays.
- Green eyes are better with medium and warm tones. A light purple or golden brown would look great.
- The eye shadow doesn't have to be the same color as the eye color, but if it does, it will make the eyes stand out more.
Step 2. Use a skin tone or white eyeliner
Skin tone eyeliner is a safe, but effective option for brightening the eyes. In turn, you will look fresher. Since skin tone is almost invisible, this option is suitable for all situations. If you want a significant makeover, try white eyeliner.
Adding dark eyeshadow under the eyes, then using a skin tone or white eyeliner on the bottom line will create the impression of bigger eyes
Step 3. Draw a line sticking out at the corner of the eye like a cat's eye
Cat eye makeup is a common and effective way to increase eye size. Using liquid eyeliner, draw the line on the upper eyelid outwards, ending with the tip tapering upwards. Since cat eye makeup is so commonplace and relatively simple, there are many ways to match it.
Don't forget to create the base first. Use the lightest shade of eye shadow that matches your skin tone. This will emphasize the effect of the eyeliner, especially if you use a dark eyeliner like brown or black
Step 4. Apply false eyelashes
If you want to highlight your eyes, false eyelashes are a great option. False lashes will open your eyes and give a frame that blends in with your real lashes. Apply glue to the base of the false lashes, and place it behind the natural lashes. False eyelashes make the eyes look more open.
Step 5. Brush white shimmer around the eyes
Like white eyeliner, white shimmer will make the eyes look alert. Draw a line of white eyeliner around the eye and blend it until you see a graceful cloud effect. Make sure the blend is even, thinning towards the brows.
- White shimmers are usually used only for special occasions, but if you are brave, try using them on casual occasions.
- It may take some practice to get the shimmer to work well. Try it, the results will be very interesting and worth the trouble.
- Highlighter with other colors can also be used in the inner corner of the eye to make the eyes look alive and appear bigger.
Method 3 of 3: Framing the Eyes
Step 1. Curl the eyelashes
Even if your eyelashes are already curled, keep curling them every day. Eyelashes are the natural frame of the eye, and when they are curled, they make them stand out even more. Curled eyelashes will make the eyes wider. With the curler, curl the lashes from the base and hold for three seconds. Do not do more than that because the eyelashes will break.
Step 2. Wear large diameter contact lenses
These large diameter contact lenses function the same as regular contact lenses, but cover more of the white area of the eye and increase the size of the iris. The result is the impression of big eyes like Japanese anime. Although these contact lenses are more popular in East Asia, you can buy them easily in Indonesia. Prices vary, and can also be purchased by prescription.
Large diameter contact lenses are associated with significant risk and injury, including blindness. The American FDA also does not approve the use of these contact lenses. However, there is no empirical research on this subject, and the risks may be just a scare, but should be considered if you want to give it a try
Step 3. Remove the glasses
Thick glasses create the effect of shrinking the eyes through the lenses. If you wear thick glasses, taking them off is enough to make a difference. Contact lenses make almost no difference and are relatively easy to use. If you have the funds, consider laser surgery to treat vision problems. Normal sized contact lenses can also solve this problem.
Tips
White eyeliner can open the eyes. Black eyeliner tends to have the opposite effect. Keep that in mind when you do eye makeup. The color of the eyeliner has a significant impact on the appearance of the eye
Warning
- Large eyes have a higher risk of myopia (nearsightedness). Even though they look more beautiful, big eyes have a risk of vision problems. If you have small eyes and wish they were bigger, keep this risk in mind.
- Don't get too hung up on eye size. Bigger doesn't mean prettier. Like the rest of the body, the eyes should match the rest of the face.
