This wikiHow teaches you how to download videos from Netflix for later viewing. You can download videos from Netflix via the Netflix app on a mobile device, or the Netflix app on a Windows computer. Unfortunately, the Netflix app is not yet available for Mac computers. However, you can use Quicktime to record shows from the Netflix website on a Mac.

Method 1 of 3: Downloading Movies and Television Shows from Netflix on iPhone and Android Devices
Step 1. Connect the device to a wireless network or WiFi if possible
When you download television shows and movies through the Netflix app, you will use a lot of mobile data. Therefore, it is recommended that you connect your device to a wireless or WiFi network if possible so that you do not exceed the limit or quota of the cellular data plan used.
Step 2. Install or update the Netflix app
If you are using an Android device, download and install the Netflix app from the Google Play Store. On iPhone and iPad, you can download Netflix from the App Store.
- To update the Netflix app on an Android device, go to the Google Play Store and search for "Netflix" using the search bar at the top of the screen. Touch the green button labeled “ Updates ” next to the application name. If the button isn't available, your device is already running the latest version of Netflix.
- To update the Netflix app on iPhone and iPad, go to the App Store and tap the “ Updates " Select button " Updates ” next to Netflix. If Netflix is not available in the list of available updates, your device is already running the latest version of Netflix.
Step 3. Open the Netflix app
This app is marked by a red letter “N” icon. Touch the icon on the home screen or apps menu to open Netflix. You can also touch the “ Open ” next to Netflix in the App Store or Google Play Store window to open the app.
- If you're not logged into your account automatically, sign in using the email address and password registered with your Netflix account on the login page when the app starts.
- If you don't have a Netflix account, you can sign up for a free trial.
Step 4. Touch the profile icon
If you have more than one profile saved in your account, tap the desired user profile icon after signing in to Netflix.
Step 5. Touch the movie or television show image
A selection of television shows and movies is shown as an inset on the Netflix main page. Touch the image of the movie or television show you want to download.
Alternatively, you can tap the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the screen, or in the upper-right corner of the screen and search for a television show or movie by title
Step 6. Touch download button
This button looks like an arrow pointing down above the line. For movies, this icon is below the movie title, at the top of the movie information page. For television shows, this icon is to the right of each episode. Touch the icon to download a movie or television show episode. It may take a while for movies and television shows to finish downloading.
Not all movies and television shows can be downloaded. To search for downloadable shows, touch “ Downloads ” at the bottom of the screen. After that, select " Find Something to Download " or " Find more downloads ” at the bottom of the screen.
Step 7. Touch the Downloads icon
It's at the bottom of the screen. It looks the same as the arrow icon pointing down above the line. A list of all downloaded television shows and movies will be displayed.
Step 8. Touch the downloaded content to watch it
After the download is complete, the show can be enjoyed anytime, even when the device is not connected to the internet network.
- Downloaded movies and television shows have an expiration date. However, this date differs depending on the downloaded content. Movies and television shows that expire in seven days will display the remaining time available. Meanwhile, movies and shows that are no longer available on Netflix will expire automatically.
- To delete a downloaded movie or television show, touch “ Downloads ” at the bottom of the screen. After that, touch and hold the movie or show that needs to be deleted. Select the checkboxes next to all the impressions you want to delete. After that, tap the trash can icon in the top right corner of the screen.
Method 2 of 3: Downloading Movies and Television Shows from Netflix on Windows 10
Step 1. Click the Windows “Start” button
This button has the Windows logo. By default, it's in the lower-left corner of the Windows taskbar. After that, the “Start” menu will be displayed.
Step 2. Click the Microsoft Store icon
This button looks like the Windows logo on a shopping bag. This icon is larger and is under "Explore" on the Windows Start menu.
Step 3. Click Search
It's next to the magnifying glass icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. A search bar will be displayed next to the icon after it.
Step 4. Type Netflix into the search bar and press Enter
A list of applications that match the search entry will be displayed afterwards.
Step 5. Click the Netflix app icon and select Install
The Netflix app is marked by a red “N” icon. Click the icon in the Microsoft Store window and select “ Install ” to install the Netflix app on Windows 10.
Step 6. Open the Netflix app
After installing the Netflix app on Windows 10, you can either click on its icon on the “Start” menu, or select the “ Launch ” on the Microsoft Store to run the app.
- If you're not logged into your account automatically, sign in using the email address and password registered with your Netflix account after you run the app.
- If you don't have me yet, you can sign up for a free trial period.
Step 7. Click the profile icon
If your account has more than one profile, click the desired user profile after logging into the account.
Step 8. Click the image of the movie or television show you want to download
A selection of movies and television shows are displayed as images in the Netflix app. Click the image of the show or movie you want to download.
Alternatively, you can click the magnifying glass icon in the upper-right corner of the window and search for movies or television shows by title
Step 9. Click the Download icon
It's below an icon that looks like an arrow pointing down above the line. For movies, the download icon is below the movie title, at the top of the viewing information page. For television shows, click the small down arrow icon above the line, below each episode title to download the desired episode. It may take a while for movies and television shows to finish downloading.
Not all movies and television shows can be downloaded. To search for downloadable shows, click the menu icon (☰) in the upper left corner of the screen and select “ Available for download ”.
Step 10. Click the menu icon
It's an icon with three horizontal lines in the upper-left corner of the Netflix app window. The menu will appear on the left side of the window.
Step 11. Click My Downloads
It's at the top of the menu. All downloaded movies and television shows will be displayed afterwards.
Step 12. Click on a movie or television show to watch it
You can watch all your downloaded movies and television shows whenever you want, even when your device is off the grid.
- Downloaded movies and television shows have an expiration date. However, this date is different, depending on the downloaded content. Movies and television shows that expire in seven days will display the remaining time available. Meanwhile, movies and shows that are no longer available on Netflix will expire automatically.
- To delete downloaded movies and television shows, click the menu icon (☰) in the upper-left corner of the screen and select “ My Downloads " Click " Manage ” in the top right corner of the menu. Mark the checkboxes in the top right corner of all the videos you want to delete. After that, click " Delete ” in the upper right corner of the screen.
Method 3 of 3: Recording Content from Netflix on Mac Komputer
Step 1. Click the magnifying glass icon
This icon is the Spotlight search icon. You can find it in the menu bar in the upper-right corner of your computer's desktop. Unfortunately, there is no Netflix app for Mac. However, you can use Quicktime Player to record shows from Netflix in a web browser and watch the recordings later.
Step 2. Type in Quicktime Player and press Enter
Applications and files on the computer that match the search entry will be searched.
Step 3. Click Quicktime Player.app
Quicktime Player will run on the computer.
Quicktime Player is included by default on Mac computers. If you don't have the app on your computer, you can download it for free from the App Store
Step 4. Click File
It's in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Make sure you see "Quicktime Player" next to the Apple icon in the menu bar at the top of the screen
Step 5. Click New Screen Recording
This option is the third option on the “File” menu.
Step 6. Click the record button when you are ready to record the show
The record button is a circular button with a red dot in the middle. You can start recording at this point or wait for the movie or television show to load on the Netflix website.
Step 7. Click the screen to start recording
Click any part of the screen to record content across the screen.
Alternatively, you can click and drag the cursor to record a specific part of the screen. This process can help save storage space when you record content on the screen
Step 8. Visit https://www.netflix.com/ via a web browser
You can use any web browser installed on your computer.
- If you're not automatically signed into your Netflix account, sign in using the email address and password that's registered with your Netflix account.
- If you don't have a Netflix account yet, you can sign up for a free trial.
Step 9. Scroll down and click on the image of the movie or television show
A selection of movies and television shows are displayed as images on Netflix. Swipe under the suggested television shows and movies segment, then click the image of the show or movie you want to record.
- Alternatively, you can also click the magnifying glass icon in the upper-right corner of the screen and search for movies or television shows by title.
- To select an episode of a television show, click the icon that looks like three stacked squares in the lower-right corner of the screen. Select a season, then click the episode title in the list.
- Click the square icon in the lower-right corner to watch a movie or television show in full-screen mode.
Step 10. Watch a movie or television show until the end
To record an entire movie or show, you must watch it to the end while Quicktime records the show.
Step 11. Click the Quicktime icon on the Dock
When you're done recording, click the icon that looks like the letter “Q” in the Dock at the bottom of the screen. After that, you will be taken back to the Quicktime Player window.
Step 12. Press Esc
The “Screen Recording” control box will be displayed.
Step 13. Click the “Stop” button
This button looks like a circle with a black square in the center. The recording process will be stopped. After the recording has finished processing, Quicktime will display the recording of the entire screen, including the video. If you want to preview the recording, click the triangular play (“Play”) icon.
Step 14. Click File
It's in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Step 15. Click Save
This option is in the Quicktime " File " menu.
Step 16. Type in the name of the recording
Enter a record name in the field next to “Export As”, at the top of the “Save” menu.
By default, screen recordings will be saved to the “Movies” folder. If you want to save it to a different directory, you can select the desired folder from the “Save” menu
Step 17. Click Save
It's in the lower-right corner of the "Save" menu. After that, the recording will be saved to the specified folder/directory.
