You have a photo of a person, but don't know who it is, or what it means? You can use various image search tools on the internet to find a copy of the image, trace its origin, and find information. Google Images and TinEye are the most popular options, and you can even do this from a mobile device.

Method 1 of 3: Using Google Image Search
Step 1. Find the money image you want to search for
You can use Google to search by image instead of text. Google will try to find other copies of the same image on the internet, as well as images that are visually similar. This way, you can determine where the image came from, and possibly find more images of the same person. You can search from images saved to your computer, or search using image URLs.
- To find the image address, right-click and select "Copy image address/URL."
- To save the image on the computer, right-click and select "Save image."

Step 2. Visit the Google Image website
Go to images.google.com in your browser. You will see a Google search field.
Step 3. Click the camera button on the right side of the search field
That way, you can search by image.
Step 4. Add the image you want to search
There are two ways to search by image:
- Select " Paste image URL " and paste the copied address into the search field.
- Select "Upload an image" and browse to the image that has been saved on the computer.
Step 5. Click "Search by image." A list of search results will be displayed on the screen. Search result images of different sizes will be displayed at the top. Pages where the same image can be found are shown below, and visually similar images can be found at the bottom of the page.
Method 2 of 3: Using TinEye
Step 1. Find the image you want to browse
TinEye is a search engine designed to search for images. You can search using an image URL or upload an image file. Even if TinEye doesn't find a similar image, you can quickly trace the origin of the image.
- To find the image address, right-click and select "Copy image address/URL."
- To save the image to the computer, right-click it and select "Save image."
Step 2. Visit the site
Go to tineye.com in your web browser.
Step 3. Upload the image or paste the copied URL
Click the Upload button to browse to the image file on your computer, or paste the copied URL into the search field.
Step 4. Browse your search results
TinEye only displays results for the same image. So, browse through the search results to find the source of the image file.
Step 5. Visit pages with images that may provide more information
Pages containing images may provide identifying information for that person. Check the results to see if you can learn more about the person in the picture. Look for image captions or paragraph text around images
Method 3 of 3: Using a Mobile Device
Step 1. Install Chrome browser on your device
You cannot use the Google Image Search site to search for images on mobile devices. Therefore, use the Chrome mobile browser. You can get it for free on the App Store. This method works for both Android and iOS.
You can also use TinEye (above) by copying and pasting the URL of the image you want to search for. Press and hold the image then select "Copy image address" to copy the URL to the device clipboard. Then, paste a copy into the TinEye search field
Step 2. Find the image you want to search
You can't upload images, but you can search using any image available on the internet. Use Chrome to navigate to the image you want to search for.
If you only have an image file on your computer, upload it to an image host site like Imgur, then navigate to your mobile device
Step 3. Press and hold the image you want to use to search
The menu will then appear.
Step 4. Select "Search Google for this image"
" You will perform a Google Image search based on the pressed image.
Step 5. Browse your search results
Google will give its best guess for the name of the image as well as provide a link to the page where the image is located. Visually similar images can be found at the bottom of the first page of search results.
