This wikiHow teaches you how to sign out of your Skype account. You can do this through the Windows Skype app on Windows, as well as the regular Skype app on Windows computers, Macs, iPhones, and Android devices.

Method 1 of 4: Via Mobile Device
Step 1. Open Skype
Touch the Skype icon which looks like the blue and white Skype symbol. After that, the Skype main page will open.
If Skype displays a login page, you are signed out of your Skype account
Step 2. Touch the profile photo
This photo is at the top of the screen.
If you don't have a specific profile photo, tap your initials in the circle at the top of the screen
Step 3. Touch the settings gear icon (“Settings”)
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen. After that, the settings menu (“Settings”) will be displayed.
Step 4. Swipe the screen and tap Sign Out
This option is at the bottom of the settings menu.
Step 5. Touch Sign Out when prompted
After that, you will be logged out of your Skype account. If you want to log back into your account, you'll need to enter your email address (or phone number) and password.
Method 2 of 4: Using the Skype Windows App
Step 1. Open Skype if the app is not already open
Skype will save login information by default so you don't have to manually sign in every time you open the app. This can create security issues if you use a shared computer.
If Skype displays a login page, you are signed out of your account
Step 2. Click the profile icon
This profile photo is in the upper-left corner of the Skype window. After that, a drop-down menu will be displayed.
If you haven't set a profile photo, this icon is indicated by a human silhouette on a colored background
Step 3. Click Sign out
This option is at the bottom of the drop-down menu. After that, you will be logged out of your Skype account. If one day you open Skype, you will need to enter your email address (or phone number) and password to log back into your account.
Method 3 of 4: Using Skype Classic Version on Windows

- If Skype is already open, make sure you click on the Skype window so that the “Skype” option appears in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
- If Skype immediately displays the login page, you are already logged out of your account.

This menu is at the far left of the menu bar. After that, a drop-down menu will be displayed.
Step 3. Click Sign Out
This option is at the bottom of the drop-down menu. Once clicked, you will be logged out of your Skype account. You will need to re-enter your email address (or phone number) and password the next time you open the program if you want to re-access your account.
