If you're an active email user, you may notice that Outlook is a bit more sophisticated. You can enter your email account information and start sending and receiving emails quickly in a few minutes.
Step
Method 1 of 4: Configuring Gmail

IMAP allows two-way communication from your email client and has less chance of losing messages. Messages that have been read in your Outlook client will also be marked as read messages in your Gmail inbox, and vice versa.
- Go to Gmail and click the Gear icon in the top right corner.
- Click Settings.
- Click the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab.
- Select the "Enable IMAP" radio button.
- Click "Save Changes".
Step 2. Open Outlook

Step 1. Enable POP mail on Yahoo
Yahoo Mail only supports POP mail for external clients except for mobile phones. For Outlook, that means you have to use POP. With POP, e-mail that has been read on one client will not appear as e-mail that has been read on another client. This means that your email inbox on Yahoo and your inbox on Outlook will not always be in sync.
- Go to Yahoo Mail and click the Gear icon in the top right.
- Click Settings.
- Click Edit.
- Select POP. This option is to the right of "Access your Yahoo Mail elsewhere."
-
Select your POP spam option by clicking the drop-down menu. You have three options:
- Don't download spam emails - Only your Inbox messages will be forwarded to your clients.
- Download spam with no special indicators - Spam messages will be sent but will not be labeled with anything.
- Download spam, but prefix the word "Spam" - A spam message will be sent and will be marked as "Spam" in your Outlook inbox.
- Click Save.
Step 2. Open Outlook
Click the Tools menu and select "Accounts or Email Accounts" then click Add. If you are using Outlook 2010 or 2013, click the File tab and select the Info option. Click "+Add Account".
