This wikiHow teaches you how to check Android's total RAM usage and capacity. While you can no longer check RAM through the "Memory" section of the Settings app, you can use the hidden Developer Options menu to view Android RAM statistics. You can also use a free app called "Simple System Monitor" to see RAM usage on Android, and Samsung Galaxy owners can use the Device Maintenance app.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Using Developer Options
Step 1. Open the Android Settings menu
Use two fingers to swipe from the top to the bottom of the screen, then tap the "Settings" cog
in the upper-right corner of the drop-down menu.
You can also tap the Settings app in the App Drawer (app drawer). This app varies by Android manufacturer
Step 2. Scroll to the very bottom and tap About phone
You'll find it at the bottom of the Settings menu.
If you are using a tablet, this option is titled About tablet.
Step 3. Find the "Build number" heading
Scroll down on the "About phone" page until you find an option that says "Build number". Depending on your Android, there may be an additional menu to display the "Build number" section.
If you are using an Android Samsung Galaxy, tap Information software to find "Build number".
Step 4. Tap the title "Build number" seven times
If so, the message reads "You are now a developer!" (now you are a Developer!) will appear at the bottom of the screen.
If you don't find the message, keep tapping the "Build number" heading until you see it
Step 5. Return to the "Settings" page
Tap the "Back" button on Android.
For other Samsung Galaxy or Android users that bring up the menu inside About phone, double-tap the "Back" button.
Step 6. Tap Developer options
It's right above or below the options About phone.
Step 7. Find and tap on Memory option
The location of this option varies depending on the Android you are using so scroll down in the Developer Options menu until you find the option Memory.
For Samsung Galaxy Android users, choose Running services.
Step 8. Check your Android RAM
In the " Memory " menu, look for information regarding Android's RAM usage and total capacity.
For Samsung Android users, this information can be found in the "RAM status" section at the top of the screen

This app lets you view several aspects of your Android system usage, including RAM:

Step 3. Tap OK when prompted to open the Simple System Monitor main page
Step 4. Tap the RAM label
It's at the top of the screen.
Depending on the size of your Android screen, you may have to swipe left along the label at the top of the screen to display options RAM.
Step 5. Check RAM usage and availability
You'll see RAM usage information in the lower-left corner of the screen, while Android's total available RAM (i.e. unused system) is in the lower-right corner.

Step 1. Open the Android Settings menu

in the upper-right corner of the drop-down menu that appears.

You may need to scroll down to view this feature
Step 3. Tap Memory
It's a microchip-shaped icon at the bottom of the screen.
Step 4. Check your Android RAM
At the top of the screen, you'll see a circle indicating how much RAM is being used against its total capacity (eg "1.7 GB / 4 GB").
