This wikiHow teaches you how to change the featured photo that's at the very top of your Facebook timeline, below your profile and cover image.

Method 1 of 3: iPhone and iPad
Step 1. Open the Facebook app
It's a blue app that contains a lowercase white "f".
Step 2. Tap the profile picture
It's in the upper-left corner of the screen, above the Newsfeed, in the status box next to "What's on your mind ?" (what do you think now?).
Step 3. Tap "Edit Profile" button (edit profile)
This button is a silhouette of a person and a pencil in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 4. Scroll down to Featured Photos
Here's the photo in the " Featured " section of the profile, below the Bio and above the status box that says " What's on your mind ?"
Step 5. Tap on Edit Featured Photos
It's under the " Featured " section.
- If you don't see the button Edit Featured Photos, tap any photo in the " Featured " section.
- If you haven't added a featured photo at all, tap Add Featured Photos in the same place.
Step 6. Add or change photos
Tap the photo icon in the middle of the gray box or in the lower-left corner of an existing photo.
- Featured photos are meant to help others get to know you better so choose an image that describes you.
- You can add up to five featured photos.
- Featured photos are publicly displayed and can be seen by everyone.
Step 7. Tap Upload Photo
Do this if you want to add photos from your device's camera roll or gallery.
Step 8. Tap Select Photo on Facebook
Select this option if the photo is taken from a Facebook album.
Step 9. Delete photos
Tap ⓧ blue in the top right corner of the photo to delete it.
Step 10. Tap Save
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen. Featured photos will appear just below your Timeline profile picture.
Method 2 of 3: Android
Step 1. Open the Facebook app
This blue app contains a lowercase white "f".
Step 2. Tap the profile picture
It's in the upper-left corner of the screen, above the Newsfeed, in the status box next to "What's on your mind?".
Step 3. Scroll down to Featured Photos
Here's the photo in the " Featured " section of your profile, under Bio and the status box that says " What's on your mind ?"
Step 4. Tap on Edit Featured Photos
It's below the photo that appears in this section.
If you haven't added a photo at all, tap Add Featured Photos in the same section.
Step 5. Add or replace photos
Tap the photo icon in the middle of the gray box or in the lower-left corner of an existing photo.
- Featured photos are meant to let people know you better, so choose a photo that describes yourself.
- You can add up to five featured photos.
- Featured photos are always displayed to the public and can be seen by anyone.
Step 6. Tap Upload Photo
Do this if you want to add photos from your camera roll or device gallery.
Step 7. Tap Select Photo on Facebook
Select this option if you want to use photos from your Facebook album.
Step 8. Delete photos
Tap the icon ⓧ blue in the top right corner of the photo to delete it.
Step 9. Tap Save
It's in the top right corner. Featured photos will appear just below the profile picture in your timeline.
Method 3 of 3: Desktop
Step 1. Visit Facebook
Enter your email address and password if you are not logged in yet.
Step 2. Click the username
It's in the blue bar at the top of the window, to the right of the search box.
Step 3. Hover over the " Featured Photos " section
It's on the left side of the window, under "Intro" Timeline.
If you haven't added a photo at all, click Add Featured Photos.
Step 4. Click the gray pencil
It's in the upper right corner of the " Featured Photos " section.
Step 5. Add photos
Tap the blue photo icon in an empty square.
- Featured photos are meant to let people know you better, so choose a photo that describes you.
- You can add up to five featured photos.
- Featured photos are always displayed to the public and can be seen by anyone.
Step 6. Click +Upload Photo
Do this if you want to add photos from your computer.
Step 7. Select one of "Your Photos" (your photos) from Facebook
All Facebook photos shown below +Upload Photos (upload photos), under the "Your Photos" heading. Click on one to make it a featured photo.
Step 8. Delete photos
Tap the icon X in the top right corner of the photo to delete it.
Step 9. Tap Save
It's in the lower-right corner of the dialog box. Featured photos will appear in the "Intro" section on the left side of your timeline.
