This wikiHow teaches you how to spot signs that a Facebook friend has restricted the amount of personal information you can see on their profile. A "Restricted" list differs from a "Block" list in that a restricted user can still view public posts and posts on the same friend page of the person who blocked them.

Step 1. Visit your friend's profile
If directly asking your friend the problem isn't an option, visiting their Facebook profile is the next best course of action.
Step 2. Look for an empty space at the top of their profile
This is usually a gap between a private post and a public post. If your status is restricted, you won't be able to see their private posts, so the space appears on their profile.
Depending on when your friend made the post public, you might not see a loophole here even if you've been restricted
Step 3. See if all their posts are public
It usually appears under the blank space, if any. If there's a “Public” globe to the right of the timestamp of each post, you're not currently viewing a private post.
This doesn't really mean they're restricting you-they may decide to only make posts public
Step 4. Look for content that suddenly doesn't exist
Not being able to view photos or other content that you were previously able to do could mean your access has been restricted.
It may also mean that your friends delete their posts
Step 5. Ask one person who you are both friends with (mutual friend) to see your friend's timeline
Even if you can't see their private posts or old photos, your friends may delete their old information and lock their accounts to protect the privacy of all their Facebook friends (not just you). You can verify this by asking mutual friends to see your friends' timelines and letting you know if they can see what you can't see.
Even simply having a mutual friend tell you if your friend uploaded a post recently when you couldn't see any activity since the last month or earlier will accomplish this goal
Step 6. Ask your friends if they restrict your access
There is always the possibility that the action was unintentionally performed because the "Restricted" list is in the customized list section of the list.
