This wikiHow teaches you how to restrict your friends from seeing your posts on Facebook, without removing them from your friends list.

Method 1 of 2: Via Phone or Tablet
Step 1. Open the Facebook app
This app is marked by a blue icon with a white “F” on it. If the app is already installed, you can see the icon on your home screen (iOS) or app drawer (Android).
If you don't have the Facebook app, open a web browser (eg Safari or Chrome) and visit https://www.facebook.com. Log in using the account username and password if prompted
Step 2. Visit the profile of the friend in question
You can touch the tab Friends ” (“Friends”) on your own profile page, or type the friend's name in the search field at the top of the screen.
Step 3. Touch Friends (“Friends”)
This option is below the user's profile photo.
Step 4. Touch Edit Friend Lists (“Edit Friend List”)
Step 5. Select Restricted (“Restricted”)
A tick will be displayed next to the “Restricted” option. Once he is added to the restricted or “Restricted” user list, he will only be able to see your posts marked as public (“Public”), as well as posts containing his profile tag.
- The user in question will not get a notification when you add him or her to the restricted users list.
- To remove it from the list of restricted users, return to the “ Edit Friends List ” (“Edit Friend List”) and select “ Restricted ” (“Restricted”).
Method 2 of 2: Via Computer
Step 1. Go to https://www.facebook.com via a web browser
Use any browser, such as Safari, Firefox, or Chrome.
If you do not directly access your account, enter your Facebook account information and click “Log In”
Step 2. Visit the profile of the friend in question
You can click the tab Friends ” in your own profile, or type the user's name in the search field at the top of the screen.
Step 3. Click Friends (“Friends”)
It's next to the friend's name, at the top of the screen.
Step 4. Click Add to another list… (“Add to another list
..”).
Step 5. Select Restricted (“Restricted”)
A tick will be displayed next to the “Restricted” option. Once he's added to the restricted users list, he'll only be able to see your posts that are marked as public, or those that contain his profile tag. He also won't get a notification that he's been added to the restricted users list.
- To see the “Restricted” or “Restricted” list, click “ Friends Lists ” (“Friends List”) on the left side of the screen (under the “Explore” or “Explore” section), then select “ Restricted ” (“Restricted”).
- To remove a friend from the list, click “ Manage List ” (“Manage List”) in the top right corner of the list, then select “ Edit List ” (“Edit List”).
