This wikiHow teaches you how to permanently delete an Instagram account. Once an account is deleted, all photos, videos, followers and other account data will be lost forever. Nor can you use the same username (in this case, the one previously used). Alternatively, if you don't want to delete photos on your account, you can deactivate your Instagram account.

Method 1 of 2: On Mobile Devices
Step 1. Open Instagram
This app is marked by a colorful camera lens icon. If you are already logged in to your account, you will be taken to the main page of the application.
Step 2. Touch
or your profile photo.
This icon appears in the lower-right corner of the screen. After that, you will be taken to the profile page.
Step 3. Touch the gear icon (iPhone) or button (Android)
It's an icon/button in the top-right corner of the page. After that, you will be taken to the Instagram settings page.
Step 4. Scroll down and tap Instagram Help Center
This option is at the bottom of the page, under the “ Support ”.
Step 5. Touch Managing Your Account
This is the second option at the top of the page.
Step 6. Touch Delete Your Account
This option is the second option displayed on the page.
Step 7. Touch button
next to the text How do I delete my account? After that, the page will be extended and show more information.
Step 8. Touch the “Delete Your Account page” link marked in blue
This link is in the first segment of the permanent account deletion step.
Step 9. Log in using your Instagram account
Type in your account username (or email address) and password, then tap Log in.
Step 10. Select the reason for deleting the account
Touch the drop-down menu and select the desired account deletion reason.
If you don't want to say the reason for deleting your account, select “ Something else ”.
Step 11. Re-enter the password
Type your password into the text field again to confirm that you want to permanently delete the account.
Step 12. Touch Permanently delete my account
After that, a pop-up window will be displayed and you will be asked to confirm your selection.
Step 13. Touch OK
After that, your account will be permanently deleted.
Method 2 of 2: On Desktop Computer
Step 1. Visit https://help.instagram.com via a web browser
Please note that the deletion of this Instagram account is permanent. Once done, you will no longer be able to access your username or photos and videos from your account.
Step 2. Click Managing Your Account
Step 3. Click Delete Your Account
This option is the second option displayed on the page.
Step 4. Click the icon
next to the text How do I delete my account? After that, the page will be extended with additional information.
