If you decide to delete your Instagram account for any reason, you may be upset to learn that there is no direct way to delete your account via the Instagram app. Fortunately, you can still perform account deletion from the application, precisely through the help center option (Help Center). After that, deleting the account can be done easily, as easy as deleting the application from the iPhone. Keep in mind that you can't restore Instagram files once your account has been deleted.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Deleting Account
Step 1. Touch the Instagram app icon to open it
You can delete the account via the “Help Center” option available in the settings menu.
Step 2. Go to the account page
You can open it by tapping the human icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
Step 3. Touch the settings button which is denoted by the gear icon
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 4. Touch the “Help Center” option
This option is available in the “Support” setting group, towards the end of the settings menu.
Step 5. Touch the “Managing Your Account” option
This option is displayed at the top of the screen.
Step 6. Select the “Delete Your Account” link
After that, you will be redirected to a help page with information regarding account deletion.
Step 7. Select “How do I delete my account? You do not need to read the content displayed on the page because Instagram has provided a link to delete an account (“delete account”) in the first step on that page.
Step 8. Select the “Delete your account page” link
This link is available under the “To permanently delete your account:” section or segment, after the first step shown on the displayed page.
You can also select the “Temporarily disable your account” link on that page for a non-permanent solution. Account deactivation will prevent your Instagram account or profile from being found in search results. However, you can still reactivate your account whenever you want
Step 9. Enter the account username and password
You will need to enter both of these information to verify the account you want to delete.
Touch “Login” to proceed to the “Delete Your Account” page
Step 10. Touch the bar at the bottom of the page
It's below the text “Why are you deleting your account? Once touched, you will be asked to choose a reason for deleting the account.
Step 11. Select the appropriate reason, then touch “Done”
After that, another account deletion option will be displayed.
Step 12. Re-enter the account password
The field for entering the password is at the bottom of the page, after the text “To continue… enter your password”.
Step 13. Select “Permanently delete my account”
After that, your Instagram account and all content associated with that account will be deleted.
Part 2 of 2: Uninstalling the Instagram App
Step 1. Touch the “Home” button
After that, you will exit the Instagram app.
Step 2. Find the Instagram icon or app on the phone
You may need to swipe right on the home screen several times until you find the app icon, depending on how many apps are installed on your phone.
Step 3. Touch and hold the Instagram app icon
After that, the phone will enter the app removal mode. The app icons will start to jiggle and an “X” will appear in the top-left corner of the icon.
Step 4. Tap on the “X” in the top left corner of the Instagram app icon
This indicates that you want to delete the Instagram app from your iPhone.
Step 5. Select “Delete” when prompted
After that, the Instagram app and all its data will be erased from the phone!
Tips
If you just don't want to have the Instagram app on your phone, just delete the installed Instagram app. You don't need to delete the created account because once the account is deleted, you can't get anything back from the account
Warning
- You can't reactivate your Instagram account after it's been deleted.
- Once an account is deleted, all photos, videos, comments and followers of the account will be permanently deleted as well.
