In general, something that has been deleted will disappear. However, Instagram keeps all content, even if you delete it. So, it is still possible to restore it. This wikiHow teaches you how to recover deleted Instagram posts in several ways.

Method 1 of 3: Using the Archive Feature on Instagram
Step 1. Launch Instagram
It's a camera icon on a rainbow background, which is usually on your home screen or app drawer. You can also do a search to find it.
- Since its introduction in 2017, the archive feature is the default action for deleting or hiding posts, instead of deleting them. Maybe you can find something you're looking for here.
- If prompted, log in to Instagram.
Step 2. Touch the profile picture or silhouette
You can find it in the lower right corner of the screen. This will open your profile page.
Step 3. Touch
This will bring up a menu.
Step 4. Touch Archive
A list of your archived Stories will be displayed.
Step 5. Touch the Stories Archive drop-down menu
A menu will be displayed, and you can choose Stories Archive or Posts Archive.
Step 6. Touch an image to view it
All archived content will be displayed. If you touch one of them, the content will be opened, accompanied by other details and options.
The post and all the comments will be loaded.
Step 7. Touch
It's at the top of the post.
Step 8. Touch Show on Profile to unarchive the post
The post will reappear on Instagram's timeline in its original place.
Method 2 of 3: Checking Phone Gallery on Android
Step 1. Run My Files
The app icon is a folder, which is usually on your home screen or app drawer. You can also find it by doing a search.
- Instagram albums can only be found if you enable the feature to save posts on device storage.
- You can only find photos/videos taken through the camera in the Instagram app, not all posts that have ever been made. You also can't find pictures uploaded from the default camera roll to Instagram.
Step 2. Touch Internal Storage
This option is under " Recent files " and " Categories ".
Step 3. Touch Pictures
You may have to scroll down the screen to find it.
Step 4. Touch Instagram
All the photos you've ever taken through the Instagram app will be displayed here.
Method 3 of 3: Checking Phone Gallery on iPhone or iPad
Step 1. Run Photos
The app icon is in the shape of a colorful flower. You can find it on your home screen or by doing a search.
- Instagram albums can only be found if you enable the feature to save posts on device storage.
- You can only find photos/videos taken through the camera in the Instagram app, not all posts that have ever been made. You also can't find pictures uploaded from the default camera roll to Instagram.
Step 2. Tap the Albums icon at the bottom of the screen
It's the second icon from the right near "Search".
Step 3. Tap on the Instagram album
All photos and videos taken through the Instagram app will be displayed, but you won't be able to find copies of all posts.
