This wikiHow teaches you how to create an Instagram fan page that appeals to followers.
Step
Part 1 of 3: Creating an Account
Step 1. Determine the focus of the fan page
Before you create one, you need to know what the fan page is focused on. Some examples you might consider include:
- Celebrities or public figures
- Special topics (e.g. certain types of animals)
- Beliefs/views (eg religious or philosophical movements)
Step 2. Download the profile photo
If you don't have a photo that represents the focus of your fan page, download the photo first before creating an account so you can add it directly to the account setup/preparation process.
For example, if you want to create a fan page for the character Doraemon, download a photo of Doraemon
Step 3. Open Instagram
Tap the Instagram app icon which looks like a colorful camera. After that, the application will be opened.
If you are already logged into a specific Instagram account, log out of that account before continuing
Step 4. Touch Sign up
This link is at the bottom of the screen. After that, the initial segment of account creation will be displayed.
Step 5. Enter the phone number
Tap the text field in the center of the screen, then enter the phone number you want to use for your Instagram account.
If you want to register using your email address, touch the tab “ E-mail ” and enter the desired email address.
Step 6. Touch Next
It's a blue button at the bottom of the screen.
Step 7. Enter the name and password
Type the full name and desired account password into the "Full name" and "Password" fields, respectively.
The name you choose should reflect the focus of the fan page, and it doesn't have to be your own name
Step 8. Touch Next
It's a blue button at the bottom of the screen.
Step 9. Touch Change username
This link is in the middle of the page.
Step 10. Enter an attractive username
In the text field in the middle of the screen, type the username you want to use for the page. This name is a marker that people will see when they search for the page. Therefore, make sure the name is catchy, memorable and relevant to the focus of the fan page.
Step 11. Touch Next
Step 12. Skip the step of connecting Instagram account to Facebook
Touch the link “ Skip, then touch again Skip ' when prompted.
You can always connect your Instagram account to Facebook at a later time if you need to
Step 13. Touch Next
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen.
If you want to follow someone on this page, touch the “ Follow ” which was next to his name before continuing.
Step 14. Touch Add a Photo
It's a blue button in the center of the screen. After that, a pop-up menu will be displayed.
Step 15. Select the downloaded photo
Touch Choose from Library ” in the pop-up menu, then select the photo you downloaded earlier.
Step 16. Complete the account creation process
Touch " Next, then select " Save ” to complete account setup and log in to the newly created Instagram fan page account.
Part 2 of 3: Setting Up a Fan Page
Step 1. Pay attention to the current account view
Touch profile icon
in the lower-right corner of the screen, then take a look at the account display. You can see your profile photo, space for bio, and the first photo uploaded (this photo is the same photo as the page's profile photo).
This is what people visiting your page will see
Step 2. Add bio
You can add a bio for your account by touching the “ Edit Profile ” at the top of the page and include a brief description of the fan page persuasion in the “Bio” section.
- Biodata is a very important aspect because it often serves as the first glimpse of your fan page that potential followers see.
- Many Instagram users update their bios with links to new content from their fan page focus (e.g. new songs or books).
Step 3. Find out the focus of the fan page
You need to find information about the focus of the created fan page (e.g. a topic, a specific celebrity, or a category like whales) to keep the page relevant.
- By including events or information that fits the focus of a fan page, your page can become a source of new news for fans.
- By knowing how much (or little) information is available, you can get a better picture of the content to be uploaded.
Step 4. Check other Instagram fan pages
There are several other fan pages with a similar focus to your fan page focus. While you shouldn't copy the content of other fan pages, you can visit those pages for inspiration.
The easiest way to view other fan pages is to touch the search bar at the bottom of the screen and enter the name or description of the focus in that bar
Step 5. Follow other fan pages with the same focus if possible
If you're creating a fan page for a public figure or celebrity, chances are they have their own Instagram page. You can follow the page to make sure you stay up-to-date whenever the character or celebrity uploads new content.
- In addition, try to follow the person or celebrity on other social media accounts if possible.
- You can also follow other fan pages, especially if your account is a category appreciation page, and not a specific fan page for a particular character/celebrity. With this step, you can enter the community of the topic in question.
Step 6. Determine what makes your page different from other pages
Based on what you know about existing fan pages for a particular topic or person, try to find some ways to make your page more unique.
For example, if you notice that each fan page contains the same general type of information, you could upload more specific information on the page
Step 7. Find a photo to upload
After optimizing the page, you need to upload the first photo. This process starts with finding and downloading photos from the internet.
If you're creating a fan page for an easily accessible topic (such as wildflowers), you can take your own photos if you want
Step 8. Upload the first photo
To upload a photo from your phone's gallery, follow these steps:
- Touch the button “ + ” at the bottom of the screen.
- Touch the tab " Library ”.
- Select a photo.
- Touch " Next ”.
- Select a filter.
- Touch " Next ”.
- Enter a photo description.
- Touch " Share ”.
Part 3 of 3: Managing a Fan Page
Step 1. Set a visual theme
One of the things you can see from successful fan pages is that the photos uploaded always follow one common theme. While this doesn't necessarily mean that your photos have to look the same, there are a few things you can do to make sure the page content looks uniform:
- Use the same filter on the photo (or don't use the filter at all)
- Follow the same color theme (e.g. upload color or black and white photos)
Step 2. Try interacting with other fan pages
When interacting with other Instagram fan pages, you can expose content to new users and get an idea of what the content looks like for your own page.
By following other fan pages, you can also get important information about your topic
Step 3. Stay up-to-date with the latest information on the topics the page covers
Filling a page with up-to-date content, information and news on the chosen topic is important because followers want to get news from your page and other similar pages.
For example, if the person who inspired your fan page is an artist who recently announced the release of a new album, you will also need to announce the release of that album on the page
Step 4. Talk to followers
Page followers will of course have comments, questions, and suggestions for your page content. It's important that you respond to their comments or questions as this can help you retain existing followers and possibly inspire others to follow your page.
- Talking to followers is not just an interaction. It's a way of creating a positive community where everyone who enjoys the same topic can talk without distractions.
- The success of a fan page is largely determined by the interaction of the fan page community with one another.
Step 5. Try to upload posts frequently
As with other social media, success on Instagram is often directly related to uploading multiple pieces of content in one day, especially when you're just starting a fan page. At least try to upload photos twice a day.
Make sure you don't upload too many photos. Uploading photos more than five times a day can discourage others from following your account
Step 6. Don't ignore the photo description box
While photos make up the bulk of the content that fills the page, make sure you add a caption to each post before publishing. Captions can be a space to talk or ask followers questions. Plus, captions make your content look more professional.
Step 7. Use popular hashtags
Photo tagging makes your content more searchable for people who don't/don't follow you yet. While the hashtags must be relevant to the post (e.g. don't use hashtags that have nothing to do with the post), you can include as many hashtags as you want.
