You can use the search feature to search for a specific name or phone number and find someone's username in the search results. You can also browse the list of all device contacts and search for someone's username.

Method 1 of 2: Using the Search Feature
Step 1. Open Snapchat
on your iPhone or iPad.
The Snapchat icon looks like a white ghost inside a yellow square. You can find it on the home screen or in the application folder.
Step 2. Touch the button
Search at the top of the screen.
With this button, you can search for users by name, phone number, or username.
Step 3. Type in the contact's name or phone number
You can search for contacts on your phone, Snapchat friends, or other Snapchat users by name or phone number.
Step 4. Search for the user you want in the search results
You can find Snapchat friends under the " MY FRIENDS " section, and other users under the " ADD A FRIEND " section. Each username is displayed below the user's full name, next to their avatar or Bitmoji.
Touch " Show More ” at the bottom of the short list to expand the list.
Method 2 of 2: Using the “Add Friends” List
Step 1. Open Snapchat
on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 2. Touch your profile icon or Bitmoji
It's in the top-left corner of the screen. The profile menu will open afterwards.
Step 3. Tap Add Friends
You can find this option under Snapcode in the profile menu. A “Quick Add” menu with some suggested users will be displayed.
Step 4. Tap All Contacts in the top right corner of the list
It's in the upper-right corner of the “Quick Add” list, below the search bar. A list of all contacts on the device/phone will be displayed.
Step 5. Find the user you want in the contact list
You will see all the contacts on your phone on this page. Each username is displayed below their full name, next to their profile avatar or Bitmoji.
- You can use the search bar at the top of the screen to quickly find and add friends.
- You will see a button “ Add ” in addition to some contacts. The button indicates the contact in question is a Snapchat user.
- You will see a button “ invite ” in addition to other contacts. This means the contacts are not using Snapchat yet.
- You can send these contacts an invitation and ask them to create a new Snapchat account.
