This wikiHow teaches you how to send images and animated GIFs in a WhatsApp conversation using an iPhone or iPad. WhatsApp Android and Web don't support GIFs yet, and this method only works on the iOS version of WhatsApp.

Method 1 of 2: Sending a-g.webp" />
Step 1. Open WhatsApp Messenger
The WhatsApp icon is a green box containing a white chat bubble and a phone.
Step 2. Tap on the conversation
- If WhatsApp opens a conversation, tap the back button in the upper left corner to return to the page Chats.
- If WhatsApp opens to another page, tap the button Chats in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. The shape is in the form of two chat bubbles.
Step 3. Tap the + button
It's in the lower-left corner of the screen next to the text box.
Step 4. Tap Photo & Video Library to open Camera Roll
Step 5. Tap the-g.webp" />
You'll be able to preview the animated-g.webp
Otherwise, you can send the video from the Camera Roll as a GIF. Instead of tapping the-g.webp" />
Step 6. Tap on-g.webp" />
If you don't have a-g.webp
Step 7. Tap the text box to search for GIFs
This text box is at the top of the list of images and animated GIFs. After that, the keyboard will appear.
Step 8. Type in a keyword to search for GIFs related to that word
Step 9. Scroll down to find the-g.webp" />
Step 10. Tap the-g.webp" />
That way, you can review the-g.webp
Step 11. Tap the send button
This button looks like a small paper airplane in the lower-right corner of the screen. After that, the GUF will be sent to the contact.
Method 2 of 2: Copying GIFs from the Web
Step 1. Open the-g.webp" />
If you're still confused, look up GIFs on GIPHY and Tenor to see and use the collections in their libraries.
Step 2. Tap and hold on the GIF
Step 3. Choose Copy from the pop-up menu
Step 4. Open WhatsApp Messenger
Step 5. Tap on the conversation
- If WhatsApp opens the conversation, tap the back button in the upper left corner to return to the page Chats (chat).
- If WhatsApp opens another page, tap the button Chats in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. It is in the form of a chat bubble.
Step 6. Tap and hold the text box
The text box will be at the bottom of the conversation where you typed the message.
