This wikiHow teaches you how to make calls using the WhatsApp Messenger app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device.

Method 1 of 2: On iPhone or iPad
Step 1. Open WhatsApp
If you are not logged into your WhatsApp account automatically, follow the prompts to register your phone number.
Step 2. Touch Calls
It's the phone icon in the lower-left corner of the screen.
Step 3. Touch
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 4. Touch the name of the contact you want to call
You may need to scroll through the screen to find the contact you want
Step 5. Touch the phone icon
It's next to the video call icon, to the right of the contact's name.
If prompted, touch “ Allow ” to allow WhatsApp to access or use the device's microphone and camera.
Step 6. Speak clearly into the microphone when the contact answers the call
Step 7. Touch the red phone icon to end the call
It's at the bottom of the screen.
Method 2 of 2: On Android Device
Step 1. Open WhatsApp
If you are not logged into your WhatsApp account automatically, follow the prompts to register your phone number.
Step 2. Touch CALLS
It's at the top of the screen.
Step 3. Touch the “new call” button

Step 4. Find the contact you want to call
You may need to scroll through the screen to find the contact you want
Step 5. Touch the phone icon
It's next to the video call icon, to the right of the contact's name.
If prompted, touch the option “ CONTINUE " and select " ALLOW ” to allow WhatsApp to access the device's microphone and camera.
Step 6. Speak clearly into the microphone when the contact answers the call
Step 7. Touch the red phone icon to end the call
