Satellite phones have opened lines of communication in areas not covered by regular cell phone services. Calls with satellite phones usually have a higher cost, between Rp. 20,000 and Rp. 175,000 per minute. Calls to satellite phone numbers are made in the same way as a regular call, but there are slight differences. The procedure differs depending on whether the satellite phone user has set up a collect call procedure (charging the call cost to the call recipient).
