You may love your iPhone's calendar app, but many people have fallen in love with Google calendar. If you don't want to miss out on a "get-together with friends" event that was created in Google Apps, see how to set up Google Calendar on your iPhone in a few steps below; only a while!
Step
Step 1. Open Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Tap Settings on the home screen, then scroll down and tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Step 2. Add a new account
From the Mail, Contacts, Calendars control panel, tap Add Account…
Step 3. Select Other
At the bottom of the Add Account control panel, tap the Other button.
Step 4. Add a CalDAV account
In the Other control panel, scroll to the Calendars pane, then tap Add CalDAV account.
Step 5. Enter the information for the new CalDAV account, then tap Next
- Server is google.com.
- User Name is your Google email login information.
- Password is your Google password.
- Description is a description of anything you like.
- When you tap Next, setup is complete.
Step 6. Open the Calendar app
Unless you've moved it, this app is on the home screen. At the top left of the calendar window, tap Calendars.
Step 7. Select the Google calendar that you want to appear on iPhone calendar, then tap Done
In a few moments, your Google calendar will be displayed. Synchronization runs automatically.
Step 8. Take control of available calendars
To enable or disable multiple calendars on Google, navigate to and tick your calendars to show or hide them in your calendar settings on iPhone. Click the Save button, and in a few moments, the new settings will take effect.
Note that you can still show or hide some calendars in the Calendar app, as long as all calendars are enabled in your Google Calendar sync settings
Tips
- Synchronization is automatic; nothing to set up, as long as your Gmail is set up properly.
- The more calendars you send to your phone (and not filtered through Google Sync), the more control you'll have on your iPhone.
