This wikiHow teaches you how to change which applications can access your Mac's system and storage space.
Step
Step 1. Click the Apple icon
It's the Apple logo in the top-left corner of the menu bar.
Step 2. Click System Preferences
Step 3. Click the “Security & Privacy” icon
This icon looks like a house.
Step 4. Click Privacy
Step 5. Click services on the left pane
The services in the left pane contain the application for that service function. The application will be displayed in the window on the right.
For example, the "Location Services" service in the left pane might display the Maps application in the right-hand window because the Maps application requires location services in order to provide directions
Step 6. Click the checkbox next to the app to add or remove permissions
Apps marked by a blue tick have permission to access the services marked in the left pane of the window.
- If no application is displayed, it is possible that you do not have an application that can perform the functions of the selected service.
- If apps and checkboxes appear faded or darkened, click the lock icon in the lower-left corner of the window.
- Type in the password.
- Click Unlock.
Step 7. Click the red "x" button
App permission changes will take effect immediately.
Tips
- Some services (eg "Accessibility") allow you to add or remove app permissions directly from the "Privacy" window.
- To add an application, click the + button, click Applications in the left pane of the pop-up window, select an application, and click Open. Click the - button to remove the app from the " Accessibility " permission list.
