The marriage of Sim characters is an important element in the The Sims series of games, including The Sims FreePlay. In order to have children and complete many objectives in the game, you will need to marry off Sim characters. In the beginning, it took quite a long time to open the marriage options to the first couple. However, over time, it became easier to marry off other Sim pairs. Read step one to learn how to do both.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Marrying the First Spouse
Step 1. Make sure the game is up to date
In order to marry characters in The Sims FreePlay, you must have the 2013 Holiday update installed. Usually, the app is updated automatically so that all players can access the update. However, you can re-verify the game version by going to your device's app store and checking for updates.
Step 2. Complete the "Love is in the Air" quest or task
With this quest, your Sim character can get engaged and you'll get a free wedding ring, as well as access to the Wedding Bundle. This quest can be unlocked at level 6 and has a two day time limit for the bonus to be collected. If you don't manage to complete the task on time, you can still marry off the playable character, but you will need to purchase the “Wedding Bundle” outfit set from the cash store. For the first marriage, you must complete this task. Complete the first few tasks to start the wedding process:
- “Rich Lather” (shower in the “Rich Lather” option)
- “Invite a Sim over” (invite a character pair to your house)
- "Flirt" (throw a seduction to a partner)
- “Make Fancy Coffee” (make expensive coffee)
- "Be Romantic" (show the romantic side to your partner)
- "Form a Budding Romance" (switch to a more romantic action once the two characters are on good terms)
- “Watch a Movie” (watch a movie with a partner)
- “Start Dating” (start dating your partner)
- "Kiss on the cheek" (give a kiss on the cheek partner)
- "Send a Sim home" (become the couple back home)
- “Sleep through alarm” (sleep without being woken up by the sound of the alarm)
- “Expand a room” (expand the size of the character's bedroom)
- “Buy a 3 Star bed” (buy a bed with a three star rating)
- “Bake Heart Shaped Chocolates” (make heart shaped chocolates)
- "Grow onions" (plant onions)
- “Invite a Sim over” (invite your partner to your house)
- “Be Romantic” (show the romantic side to your partner)
- “Eat a meal” (eat with a partner)
- ” Bake "Chocolate Pudding" (make chocolate pudding)
- “Become Partners” (become a partner for the character you want to marry)
Step 3. Fill the pairing bar (“Partner”)
Once you're at the “Partner” stage, you can take your character's relationship to a more serious level and start having sex (“WooHoo”). By fully filling the “Partner” bar, the character can be engaged to his partner. At this stage, you need to complete several tasks:
- “WooHoo” (have sex)
- “Buy two Roses” (buy two roses for a couple)
Step 4. Make sure your character doesn't live with his partner yet
In The Sims FreePlay, there is a problem that occurs when a character gets engaged to another character who is already living together and the engagement fails. Before applying, make sure the two characters live in different houses (if necessary, move one of the characters). You can put both characters back in the same house after the engagement.
Step 5. Propose a partner and buy a ring
After the two characters become a couple, you should still improve the relationship status by choosing romantic actions. Once the relationship status is at a sufficient level, you can look at the " Propose Marriage " option when choosing a romantic action. Select the option to display the engagement ring shop (“Engagement Ring”).
- In the "Love is in the Air" quest, you will get the best ring for free. For subsequent couples, you will need to purchase a ring using Simoleon or LP.
- After successfully proposing a partner, select the action " Call a Friend ".
Step 6. Place both characters in one house
Once engaged, both characters must live in the same house for the relationship to continue. Choose a house that matches both characters and start their life as a couple.
Step 7. Increase the engagement bar (“Engaged”)
Once the two characters are engaged, you need to fill in the engagement bar or “Engaged” so that they can get married. Choose multiple actions from the “Romantic” and “WooHoo” options to fill the bar. There are a few other actions to take when filling the bar:
- Invite three friends to the house
- Dance while listening to the station “Sim FM Hottest 100”
- Build a garden
- Invite three friends to the park
- Ask for wedding rings to the ducks in the pond
Step 8. Marry both characters
Once the “Engaged” bar is fully loaded, you can see the “Get Married “option when selecting a character. After a few seconds, both characters will get married and you will get a notification.
If you successfully complete the quest within the time limit, you can access the “Wedding Bundle” outfit in the “Create-A-Sim” mode or the “Fancy Dress” shop
Step 9. Have children
After marriage, the two characters can have children. You will need to open a children's store (“Children's Store”) and purchase a crib in order to have children. Search and read articles on how to have and raise a Sim baby to learn more.
Part 2 of 2: Marrying Other Sim Characters
Step 1. Pass the character relationship levels
After making it through the first marriage, you can marry off other couples. In order to get the marriage option, the two selected Sim characters must choose a very high level of relationship ("Relationship") with each other. You can increase this level by performing actions from the "Be Romantic" option. A “purple” or “pink” interaction will increase the character's romantic relationship status ("Romantic Relationship"). There are three stages of romance phase (“Romance”) that need to be passed before a character can be engaged: “Budding Romance”, “Dating”, and “Partners”.
Step 2. Propose a partner and buy a ring
Once the “Partner” bar is fully filled, the selected character can propose to a partner. When applying, choose the most expensive ring you can buy. Cheaper rings run the risk of canceling or thwarting the proposal.
- If the proposal fails, try again with a more expensive ring.
- Make sure the two characters don't live together before the proposal. You can put them back in the same house after they get engaged.
Step 3. Increase the “Engaged” status or score bar
After successful application, move both characters to the same house and fill in the “Engaged” bar. Unlike the first quest, there are no special steps or tasks that you need to do. Just choose the “Romantic” and “WooHoo” actions as often as possible.
Step 4. Marry both characters
When you marry the next couple (after the first couple), you don't have to go to the park or tell your friends. The marriage occurs seconds after the option is selected, regardless of the character's current location.
Tips
- If your partner is separated, you need an “Eternity Ring” in order to win back your partner.
- Select actions from the “Romantic” option at least 10 times before you instruct the character to propose to his partner.
