Want to add a pool to your Minecraft world? Digging a swimming pool is the easy part, but when it comes time to fill it with water it can be a little tricky. Luckily, you can build swimming pools in the same way you would normally build other things. See Step 1 below to learn how.
Step
Step 1. Dig your pond as deep as you want
Filling a pool can be difficult, but this way you can quickly fill a pool of any depth, as long as they are all the same depth. The bottom of the pool should be the same depth, but the shape of the pool can be anything you want.
Step 2. Add a layer with a depth of one block
After the pool has been dug, add a layer over the entire surface one block deep into the pool. Make this new layer out of something easy to break like soil.
Step 3. Add water to the top layer
Use a bucket and start filling the top layer with water. The water will flow from where your source block is, so you don't have to fill each block. While charging, you may notice some current appearing. This is due to the lack of a nearby water source block, and can be corrected by placing a water source in the block that generates the current.
Step 4. Dig up the soil layer
Once the top layer is filled with water and there is no current, you can dig up the soil layer. The water will start to fill the bottom of the pool, and you won't have to worry about draining it properly.
Step 5. Add the finishing touches
Once your swimming pool is finished, you can add finishing touches to make it a truly relaxing place. Add a border around it to give it a professional look. Place some trees for shade, torches for light, and maybe even make a diving board!
