This wikiHow teaches you how to move music files from your Android device's internal storage space to an SD card.

Method 1 of 2: Using Device File Manager Apps
Step 1. Open the device file manager app
The name of this app differs depending on the device, but it is usually named “ File Manager " or " File Browser " You can find it in the page/app drawer.
- If you are using a Samsung Galaxy, then read this method.
- If your device doesn't have a file manager app, read this article.
Step 2. Touch the folder containing the music files
You need to touch the option " Internal Storage ” before being able to browse the folders. Music files are usually stored in a folder called “ Music " or " Audio ”.
If you download music files through certain applications, the downloaded files may be stored in a folder with the name of the respective application
Step 3. Touch and hold the file you want to move
The file will be selected immediately. After that, you can touch the other files that you want to move.
Step 4. Touch the other files you want to move
All selected files will be marked and/or display a check mark.
Step 5. Touch
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen. A drop-down menu will be displayed.
If the button is not displayed, there may be a “Copy to” icon on the screen. Usually, this icon looks like two overlapping squares
Step 6. Touch Move to…
A list of directories will be displayed after that.
Step 7. Touch SD Card
Step 8. Select Move
It's in the lower-right corner of the screen. The selected files will now be moved to the destination directory. It may take a few moments for all the selected files to appear in the folder you want to move to.
Method 2 of 2: Using My Files App on Samsung Galaxy Devices
Step 1. Open Samsung Galaxy app page/drawer
If you are using a Samsung Galaxy 7 or earlier, touch the “ Apps ” at the bottom of the home screen. On a Samsung Galaxy 8, swipe up from the bottom of the home screen.
Step 2. Touch My Files
A list of files stored on the device will be displayed.
Step 3. Select Audio
A list of music files stored on your phone or tablet will be displayed.
Step 4. Touch
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 5. Touch Edit
Step 6. Touch each file you want to move
A check mark will be displayed on each selected file.
Step 7. Touch the button again
Step 8. Touch Move
A list of directories will be displayed.
Step 9. Touch SD card
Step 10. Select a folder on the SD card
This folder will be the directory to which the selected music files will be moved.
Step 11. Touch Done
The selected music files will be moved from the device's internal storage space to the SD card.
