This wikiHow teaches you how to delete an unused account from the Facebook Messenger app on your Android phone or tablet. The account will not be deleted from Facebook's servers or databases; only the login information is removed from the app on the device.

Step 1. Run the Messenger app on the device
This app is marked by a blue chat bubble icon and a white lightning bolt inside. You can find it on your device's home screen or app drawer.
Step 2. Select the Chats tab (“Chat”)
This tab appears at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3. Select a profile photo
You can find your profile photo on the top left side of the screen.
Step 4. Scroll to the screen and select Switch Account
All accounts that have been linked to the Messenger app on the device will be displayed.
Step 5. Drag the account you want to delete towards the left
Additional options will be displayed.
You must have at least one account that is still connected to the Messenger app on your device. You cannot delete an account if it is the only account connected to or active on the app
Step 6. Touch the red trash can icon
A confirmation message will be displayed.
Step 7. Select Remove to confirm
The selected account will be removed from Messenger on your device afterwards.
