This wikiHow teaches you how to delete a connected Facebook Messenger account on an iPhone or iPad. Deleting an account from the Messenger app will not permanently close the account. Account login information will only be deleted from the phone or tablet.

Step 1. Open the Messenger app on your iPhone or iPad
The app is marked by a blue and white speech bubble icon with a sideways lightning bolt inside. Usually, you can find this icon on the home screen.
Step 2. Touch the profile photo
The photo is in the upper-right corner of the app window.
Step 3. Scroll to the screen and select Switch Account
This option is indicated by a blue lock icon. A list of accounts associated with the device will be displayed.
Step 4. Touch on the account that needs to be deleted
Step 5. Touch Remove account (“Remove account”)
A confirmation message will be displayed.
Step 6. Touch REMOVE (“DELETE”)
The account will be deleted from the app.
