This wikiHow teaches you how to change the date of birth that appears on your Facebook profile. You can change this via the Facebook mobile app and the desktop site. If you don't want to show your birthday on Facebook, you can hide it.

Method 1 of 2: Via Mobile App
Step 1. Open Facebook
This app is marked by a dark blue icon with a white “f” on it. After that, a news feed will be displayed if you are already logged in to your account via your phone or tablet.
If you're not logged into your account, enter your email address (or phone number) and password to continue
Step 2. Touch the button
It's in the lower-right corner of the screen (iPhone) or in the upper-right corner of the screen (Android).
Step 3. Touch your name
The tab containing the name will appear at the top of the menu. After that, you will be taken to the profile page.
Step 4. Touch the About tab
The tab is below the profile photo.
On Android devices, you need to swipe up to see the options “ About " ("About").
Step 5. Scroll to the " BASIC INFO " section and select Edit ("Edit")
Knob Edit ” (“Edit”) is on the right side of the screen, directly opposite the section heading “BASIC INFO “(“BASIC INFORMATION”).
On Android devices, you need to tap on the option “ More About You ” (“More About You”) first on this page.
Step 6. Edit your date of birth
There are two sections to the "BIRTHDAY" segment: "Birthday", which is the date and month of birth, and "Birth Year". To change the information:
- Touch the month, date, or year of birth to display the drop-down menu.
- Touch the month, date, or year you want to appear on your profile.
- Repeat this process for each piece of information you want to change.
Step 7. Scroll to the screen and select Save
It's at the bottom of the " Edit Profile " page ("Edit Profile"). After that, the birthday information displayed in the “About” section of the profile will be updated.
Method 2 of 2: Via Desktop Site
Step 1. Visit the Facebook website
Visit https://www.facebook.com in your preferred browser. After that, the news feed will be displayed if you are already logged in to your Facebook account.
If you're not logged into your account, enter your email address (or phone number) and password before moving on to the next step
Step 2. Click your name
Your first name will appear in the top right corner of the Facebook page. Click the name to enter the profile page.
Step 3. Click the About tab
This tab is at the bottom right of your profile photo.
Step 4. Click Contact and Basic Info
This tab is on the left side of the “About” page.
Step 5. Swipe to the birthday segment to edit it
This segment is under the " BASIC INFO " segment ("BASIC INFORMATION"). To edit the date of birth:
- Select your date of birth or year of birth.
- Click " Edit ” (“Edit”) located on the right side of the page.
- Click the month, date, or year that you want to change.
- Click the month, date, or new year.
- Repeat this process for each part of the birthdate that you want to change.
Step 6. Click Save Changes
It's at the bottom of the window that appears. After that, the date of birth displayed in the “About” section of the profile will be updated.
Tips
- It's a good idea to use your real birthday on Facebook. If you feel uncomfortable, you can hide it.
- You can only change your birthdate a certain number of times before Facebook imposes restrictions on your account for a few days.
