Do you suspect someone is using your computer? Or are you curious how often you use the computer? Find out when your computer was last accessed with the steps below.

Step 1. If you just want to know general computer usage, Start > Run or press Windows key+R then type cmd and press Enter
The Command window will appear. In the Command Window, type systeminfo and press Enter. After a while, you will see a series of information; scroll on until you find System Boot Time or, if you want more detailed results, follow the steps below.
Step 2. Go to Start > Run or press Window key + R
If you are using an operating system version that is more recent than XP, you may have to type the things below in the smart search box in the Start menu.
Step 3. Type in 'eventvwr.msc' and press Enter
Step 4. The Event Viewer window will appear (if you are using Windows Vista and User Account Control appears, select Continue)
Step 5. Open System Log
Step 6. This is a log of all recent activities that occur in the computer along with the date and time
You can use this data to find out when your computer was last used.
Tips
- Sometimes you don't need to type the '.msc' extension, but some versions of Windows may require you to. If not sure, use this extension.
- You can also get data about specific events that are recorded in the computer log via this menu
Warning
- Don't do the extra steps if you're not proficient.
- These instructions cannot be used for Windows XP.
