After deciding to create a vlog channel, it's time for you to make your first video. However, how do you create an engaging first video?
Step
Step 1. Purchase a high-quality camera, one that can at least record 720p video
Viewers prefer to subscribe to YouTube channels that have quality videos.
Step 2. Adjust the lighting
Avoid shadows on videos by placing lights behind and left/right sides of the body. You don't need to use studio lights -- ordinary lights or light from a window will suffice.
Step 3. Set up a fixed background for the video
Use this backdrop when you're not making an outdoors video or a home tour video. For inspiration, check out Ray William Johnson's video backdrop or Black Nerd Comedy. Or, if you like plain colored backgrounds, try watching iJustine's videos.
There is no right or wrong word in the selection of video backgrounds. A unique backdrop will grab viewers' attention, while a plain backdrop will lock viewers' attention to your content
Step 4. Create original content
Don't steal ideas from anyone, especially popular YouTubers. Have fun, and explore your ideas.
Step 5. When you're not making a video, take some time to think of ideas for the video
Also, don't let yourself stutter in the video. If necessary, say something spontaneously.
Step 6. Edit the video after it is shot
You can use the computer's built-in applications, such as iMovie or Windows Live Movie Maker, or purchase a video editing application. Unedited videos will look amateurish. Look for guides to operate video editing applications on the internet.
Step 7. Use the description box well
Write who you are and what your video is about in the description box. Don't repeat the title in the description box so that your video doesn't sound tacky.
Step 8. After uploading the video to YouTube, click on the Enhancements option above the video
If your video is wobbly, click Stabilize. Or, if you shoot video in poor lighting conditions, choose an available exposure filter.
