The notion of God is different for every culture and people in the world. While some views may be similar, building a relationship with God is a journey that must be taken by an individual alone. This personal journey does not have to mean Christianity, Abrahamic beliefs, or any other religion. Believing in God simply means believing in a greater power. Here are some things to consider as you seek faith in God.

Step

Method 1 of 3: Have Faith

Believe in God Step 1

Step 1. Separate physical measurements from trust

Think of recognizing God not by scientifically measurable events, but by an intangible presence in everything you do. God is spirit, experienced intuitively, almost like experiencing love, air and gravity, or feelings.

  • Knowing God is more about the heart (belief) than the logical mind, or the head. If you approach belief from this reasoning, you will see that believing in God is not about gathering tangible facts, but reflecting on the impact He has on you and others.
  • If you approach God from a scientific point of view, you will find that belief is not based on material things but from personal spiritual analysis. Because God is generally seen as a spirit and not a body. It cannot be physically measured. It can be measured by intangibles, such as acknowledging: His presence, our beliefs, plus emotions and reactions.
  • Think about all the things you believe in. You might believe that Oakland A is the best team in MLB, for example. But what physical evidence is this based on? Did you pick A because they have superior stats and more wins? Chances are you chose them because of the impact on you as a baseball fan. Your appreciation of them is based on something emotional, individual, and physically immeasurable.

Step 2. Replace evidence with belief

Having faith means taking leap belief. This means deciding to believe without having any certainty of where you will land.

  • The leap of faith isn't just for God; chances are you take a leap of faith every day. If you've ever ordered food at a restaurant, you've taken a leap of faith. The restaurant may have a lot of customers and a high health value, but chances are you never see your food being made. You must believe that the chef has washed your hands and prepared your food properly.
  • Seeing does not always mean believing, There are still some things that cannot be measured scientifically, but humans still believe in them. For example, astronomers cannot actually "see" a black hole, because by definition it absorbs the light necessary for us to see it. But by observing the elemental properties and the orbits of stars around the black hole, we can predict that it exists. God is no different from a black hole in that it is invisible but known and the effect of observation, which invites humans to His unfathomable love and compassion.
  • Think of a time when a family member was sick and returned to health. Have you ever prayed or hoped for a higher power for his healing? Perhaps this event is like a stellar cycle, and God is a black hole exerting its pull on all things.

Step 3. Stop trying to control everything

In all religions that have the concept of God, one belief always exists: God is the creator of all things. Because God is the creator, only He can control.

  • Giving up control over certain aspects of your life does not mean you are powerless. Don't think of God as the mastermind pulling your strings, but as a parent who takes care of you. You can still shape your life path, but life won't always go the way you planned. At times like this, it is very important to remember that God is there to help you.
  • Knowing that you can't control everything should be empowering, not depressing. Recovery programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous are created on the grounds that humans do not have complete control, and belief in a higher power restores balance at the expense of one's pride. Once we accept that we can't control everything, we learn to accept the things we can't control.
  • Consider the Prayer of Serenity: “God give me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change what I can change; and wisdom to know the difference.” There are certain things you can change and certain things you can't. Even though you may not believe in God, believe that there is a greater power shaping your life. This is a good starting place for believing in God.

Method 2 of 3: Learning About God

Step 1. Go to a place of worship

Try attending a Jewish or Christian church service. Listen to what the pastor has to say and try to relate them to your life.

  • Pastors often make speeches, called sermons, that relate daily life to belief in God. See if any of the pastor's words relate to you personally. Even if you don't understand the Bible, it's possible that the sentiments or things the pastor said will relate to you in a big way (for example, treating your neighbor as you would treat yourself.)
  • Don't worry if you're not Christian or Jewish. While you may be prohibited from doing some things, such as receiving Communion (the bread that represents the body of Jesus), there is no prohibition against listening. In fact, pastors are often excited when non-religious people are curious and interested in God's teachings.
  • Church services fall on Sundays and usually last an hour. The Synagogue Service falls on a Saturday. Regular entrants usually arrive on time and remain present throughout the course, although this is not mandatory for regular participants.
  • Catholic gatherings are usually formal or semi-formal events. Make sure you dress appropriately. Collared shirts, trousers, and long dresses are acceptable clothing. Also remember to be respectful, don't use cell phones and chew gum during church services.

Step 2. Talk to a believer in God

Maybe someone you know has a good relationship with God. Talk to him about why and how faith is so strong.

  • Ask questions. “Why do you believe in God?” “What makes you so sure that God exists?” “Why should I believe in God?” These are all questions that your friends may find unique. Remember to be respectful and ask questions curiously but not aggressively.
  • The pastor was not present at confession. If you attend a gathering on a weekday, chances are you can talk to him before or after the service. Pastors are God's teachers and will be happy to answer any questions you have about trusting Him.

Step 3. Try praying

Many religions believe that a good relationship with God begins with communication with Him. God probably won't answer verbally, but there are other signs that He's listening.

  • Prayer is very important especially in times of need. Many people think that prayer is only a means of fulfilling wishes. Actually, prayer is not just asking God to solve all your problems; prayer asking Him to help you deal with your problems.
  • You may have a difficult decision ahead of you: find a job or continue your education? Try praying to God for guidance. See what choices you make and observe the results. Even if things don't always go the way you planned, take this as an opportunity to pray. Don't think of bad results as the result of God's absence, but think of Him answering your prayers in ways you haven't considered.
  • The Bible emphasizes that God works in mysterious ways. Think of God as a teacher, helping you learn important life lessons not only by giving you the answers, but by helping you find the answers yourself. Think back to school and ask yourself, "Did the teacher tell the students the answer, or did they "teach" them how to solve the problem?" Think of events in your life as “lessons” instead of “answers”.

Method 3 of 3: Becoming Active in the Community

Step 1. Volunteer

Try giving something to the less fortunate by helping out at the soup kitchen or at a food raise.

  • Believing in a higher power means removing the pressure from yourself. Helping others is a good opportunity to look at your life from a different perspective.
  • Interacting with others who are less fortunate helps you to be grateful for things you were not aware of before. Ordinary things like having a place to live, food, or being able to sleep peacefully are luxuries that some people don't have. These are all things that can help you believe that God is watching over you.
  • See how people who don't have certain things can still progress. Tony Melendez, the man who was born without arms, has just played the guitar for Pope John Paul II using his feet. Being grateful for all the things you have takes your attention away from all the things that are not in your life. Focus on the positive; Optimism is a step towards believing in something bigger than you.

Step 2. Do good deeds

Try extending your social actions to everyday life. Volunteer is unselfish and generous, but don't overlook the little things.

  • Simply holding the door for someone else can explain that person's day. Little things like smiling, giving your seat to your parents on public transportation, or simply saying “thank you” can bring you closer to God. Don't downplay the effect of good deeds on your belief in a higher power.
  • Think of a time when someone, maybe even a stranger, has done a good deed for you. Maybe you dropped your cell phone and someone picked it up and stopped you from putting it back. Have you ever stopped to think about that person's actions? Perhaps the person is the answer to prayer: “Lord please, help me through this day.”
  • Have you ever helped someone and he said, “God bless you”? Try to let those words really get to you. What if a good deed was actually God telling you that He hears and sees us and allows your intentions and purposes to express his love?

Tips

  • If the situation feels desperate, just do it. You have a purpose and God knows it!
  • If a loved one dies, and you ask “Why?”…”Why did he die?”…“Why was I left alone?”: don't give up on asking. A reason may be shown to you. Until then, remember to walk by “belief” not by “sight” – until God assures you that you are ready to hear the reason – just trust God.
  • This article is for conventional and personal God only and assumes God's presence is necessary and beneficial. Even though different beliefs hold different views of God, he transcends our images of any being, male, female, both or neither: God is greater than this…
  • Learn about the personal testimonies of people whose lives were saved or changed by their belief in God. Read the example of this person looking for evidence of the existence of God: Aru and Rita
  • Many say that “to see is to believe”, but is that true for God? If you say “I am Christian.” – but you don't believe in God, look at Christian understanding, and realize that your relationship with God is found by seeking Him wholeheartedly and receiving Him through faith. Jesus said. "If you look at me, you see Father."

God influences, intervenes (not coerces), and intelligence decides reality, why life is free, logical (not robotic), sensitive (not numb). Diasin provides intelligence with physical, emotional, and emotional control – leading to regular and rewarding (non-random) traits with present and future consequences and rewards.

  • The trust you form through belief, and in a power higher than you, doesn't just happen. You don't wake up one day, brush your teeth, and say, “Today I will believe in God. Today I will have faith”. Something has to happen to you to need and seek that belief.
  • Visit websites that tell you more about your need for God and start a new life with God today.
  • Don't give up on your belief, because of the challenges that come. When it knocks you down, look up and pray. God has reasons to allow freedom and choice. We are not robots and we are not programmed by instincts or impulses that cannot be controlled like animals. “When you seek Him first you will find Him. A door will open.” When God closes a door; It opens another…
  • Have faith. Don't get tired of doing good and don't fall. Believe and you will never be alone. You don't have to believe in or join a particular religion to believe in God.
  • When you find faith, hold it firmly; don't let go; don't stop believing. One day you may understand the essence of knowing, “I have a purpose in life”, and if you are still searching you may find greater benefits, perhaps when you least expect it.
  • Everything in life, all the paths you take, you take with a reason, if you follow God's destiny. Write it down, and follow that path. Then one day, read the Book, and follow the path you took. Understand how the first path leads to the old, straight path.
