Summer camp is over and you want to give a letter to that special someone, which he or she can read on the bus before parting ways with you. But if you simply fold the letter in half, the recipient will read the letter before he gets on the bus, and you'll be disappointed. To solve this problem, you need to learn to fold letters. If you fold it properly, the letter can only be opened once, and that special person will be less likely to open the letter before the bus starts.
Step
Step 1. Prepare a rectangular sheet of paper
A4 paper is probably the best choice. A4 paper is the paper size commonly used in printers and is easily available at most stationery stores. This paper measures 8.27 x 11.69 inches or 21 × 29.7 cm.
Step 2. Write your message on the paper
You can write a long message or a short but sweet message.
Step 3. Fold the four corners of the paper down, towards the center
These folds are similar to the kind of folds you make when you make a paper airplane.
Step 4. Hold the left side of the paper at its center point
Fold the sides of the paper in so that the inner corners touch the center of the triangle you just made. Do the same on the right side.
Step 5. Take the top point of the paper and fold it down
Then, fold the bottom edge up. The paper should now be square.
Step 6. Fold the bottom 1/3 of the paper back
Step 7. Turn the paper over
The edge of the paper you just folded should now be facing you.
Step 8. Fold the top 1/3 of the paper down
Tuck the left corner of the paper you just folded down into the left side of the side facing you.
Step 9. Tuck the right corner of the folded side into the bottom right side of the strand
Step 10. Rotate the paper 180 degrees
For a finishing touch, write "Drag" above the triangle popping out of the corner. When pulled, the fold will open, revealing the secret message.
Step 11. Done
He will be afraid to open your letter early, because it will be impossible to fold it back.
Tips
- You don't have to use this technique just to fold a special letter meant to be read on the bus. This technique is also great for folding any other letters you want to give to your friends at school.
- Buy a completely unique paper to write your special message on, so that your letter will stand out from the crowd.
- You can do much more than simply write "Withdraw" on the outside of your letter. Think creatively and decorate the letter however you like.
